Incompetent, pompous,arrogant, vacuous...
It was one of the worst experiences in the medical field in my life. It has been 4 days and I feel even worse than I did when I originally went to the ER and saw Dr. Hess. All doctors take an oath to do no harm. It is a very disheartening day when doctor treats a patient like they are not even a human who at least deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.

My wife saw Dr. Hess at the Lakeside ER after having a week of severe pain, headaches, fever and sweats that was progressively getting worse. After a one minute evaluation, stated she was having a tension headache and gave her Valium which did not relieve any of the symptoms she was having. Sent her with an Rx for Valium despite her lack of improvement with the medication and when we questioned it said there is nothing else he can do for her and abruptly discharged her from the ER. Please beware

I took my pregnant wife to the ER because she was having sharp abdominal/pelvic pain. Dr. Hess reviewed an MRI and found nothing wrong with my wife besides her having some ovarian cysts. He prescribed a pain killer for my PREGNANT wife. We asked if it would be possible to be admitted on observation so my wife's pain could be monitored and because she could barely walk. Dr. Hess said no. The next day my wife's OB admitted her for surgery. She had an ovarian torsion that required surgery.

Took my daughter to Lakeside hospital and Dr. Hess completely misdiagnosed her. He sent her home from the ER with an elevated temperature and heart rate. He basically told me he gave my daughter antibiotics and she should improve even though he had no idea what he was treating. My daughter didn't improve. We had to take her to Children's Hospital a couple days later and finally got the right diagnosis and treatment which was far from Dr. Hess diagnosis.
