Dr Wallace es excellent neurosurgeon , I don’t have complaint about him , my biggest complaint is about the gentleman in charge of Medtronic Chris Larson Never on time , cancel any time , do not answer the phone etc etc , Is a lot patients dependent on it , very irresponsible

Gave me back my back LOL
I have been under the care of multiple Drs. In the past year. Dr. Seese & Dr. Wallace are amazing. I was diagnosed with cancer in my T12 vertabrae. I had stabilization surgery with Dr. Wallace and was referred to Tampa Cancer center where I had T12 removed. The Dr there rushed me in and out and did not care about concerns of how I was in severe pain months later. I could go on about the unprofessional and uncaring way I was treated but I am overall grateful for his help. He did removed the cancerous T12 vertebrae . Big difference between the way I was treated there vs. Lyerly. Even though I was released by Dr. Wallace, I contacted him and explained my suffering. I only had a week until my insurance expired and they got me in on my last day of insurance, in the mist of all the holidays. Dr. Wallace and Dr. Seese did my corrective surgery and I am now on the road to true recovery. Dr. Seese has maintained my care after the team work surgery. He has been thorough, caring & patient

Save your own life and find another surgeon
I just put in the most horrific situation I've ever encountered. I was driving from Fernandina to Jacksonville as I was entering the Baptist parking garage the scheduling manager called me and said the doctor had just gone home sick we're going to have to reschedule you. I declined and insisted that I needed to be seen. The PA lead me to a room shut the door and shouted at me with such hostility what is "wrong with you that it was so urgent for you to be seen today" informing me that he had to abandon another patient . I handed him my two MRI needless to say he did not look at them. Dr Wallace came in shouted there's nothing wrong with your spine. I asked him to show me the discs he did he spun through them and said your spine is flawless this is the spine of a 20 year old. I begin to cry I told him I would not lay on his operation table. I told him are office visit was recorded he snarled at me you can't do that. I left trembling bawling my eyes out

I'm 38 years old and have had back issues for over 20 years. My spinal fusion was completed 2 months ago. I have been very satisfied with Dr Wallace's knowledge and experience. I spoke with several other Dr's and two of them told me that if they were to have back surgery in Jacksonville, this would be the guy they would go to. He is not super friendly but VERY professional and a matter a fact. I had a million questions and he answered them all. I do wish my follow up appointments were with him though (I have only been to one so far)

Dr Wallace performed a laminectomy in my thoracic. I ended up so much worse and had to have a full spinal fusion to fix what he did. he hid and never did a damn thing. this man ruined my life and I'll never forgive him for it. I wish I never allowed him to perform surgery on me because I live every day way worse than I ever was all these years later.

They don’t set up follow up appointments after test they send you letters. You can call to get the results but they don’t call you back. If I would have know this before I would have never went to that office.

Dr Wallace has had medical malpractice lawsuits and one large one in 2014 and the other is on going now 2019. When I asked about his lawsuits, he stated he could no longer see me as a patient. Guilty much? I’m glad he will not see me. I don’t trust him because doctors that are t guilty don’t dismiss your questions, they explain what happened.

Dr. Wallace has performed two successful surgeries on my lower back. Each time, prior to the surgeries Dr Wallace has taken time to explain my problem using the MRI results. He offered me alternatives followed by his recommendation. He performed the surgeries with the aid of his team that operated like a well oiled machine, starting with the pre-op nurses post -op nurses and in one case the overnight hospital staff. I would highly recommend Dr Wallace and his team for back surgery, or related problems.

Dr. Wallace and his PA Mike Seese are amazing. Two weeks ago I had to have a second cervical fusion. My surgery was scheduled in a very timely manner. The day of surgery I was treated with superb bedside manner from Dr. Wallace. He took as much time as needed to discuss the surgery with my husband and me. Today I went for my two week post - op and saw Mike Seese. He was wonderful. Dr. Wallace is an amazing surgeon and I will recommend him to anyone. Thank you Dr. Wallace!

Dr Wallace has given me my life back! For two years I suffered severe pain in my back ,and even considered hospice as the pain was so severe and basically all I could do was stay locked up in my room lying in bed and rocking back and forth until I could get comfortable. I missed all my families life for over two years. I still have some pain, but not the kind that I felt I could not live with. Many thanks Dr Wallace & Mr Seese! I highly recommend them!!! JGD

Set expectations. You’ll see your doctor twice - during the consult & on the day of surgery. Other than that, you’ll only see a PA no matter what the issue is. They don’t answer emails or calls so reaching anyone is hit or miss - you just have to keep calling. That said, the surgery is better than conventional techniques so it’s a trade off. Be treated like cattle and ignored if there’s a post op issue or have more invasive surgery where they actually care. Staff is obnoxious in the extreme

This place is a train wreck. I was in some pretty bad shape before they operated on me and now I’m in more pain than ever before. The amount of pain medications I have to take now on a daily basis is exponentially higher than before surgery. Do you think they care - nope! My pain was significant before and is way worse after. I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to work the other way around. The PA’s you’ll see for follow up think they’re doctors and just don’t care. Stay away.

For 10 plus years I have been in a lot of lower back pain. The last 4 months I was pure miserable. I referred to Dr Wallace so I reluctantly went and he told me exactly what he could do , how it was done , etc. I got the procedure done and the next day I was walking and except for where the surgery incision was, I was pain free. it's been almost 3 weeks now and I'm back to work and I can honestly say it was a life changing event for me. He came highly recommended by his peers and patients .

When my doctor discovered that I needed surgery immediately and they could not do it, they called Dr Wallace. His office called me within 1 hour to inform me that Dr Wallace would add me to his schedule the next day. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had with Doctors. You have no idea how much pain I was in and he knew it and helped me.

Many thanks to Baptist Medical Center's Lyerly Neurosurgery Group and Dr. Wallace in particular for my successful back surgery on August 1, 2017. Four+ months of lower back pain is now gone, as Dr. Wallace said it would. Now my job is to not over do it until I am completely healed from the surgery. I am most appreciative for the excellent nursing staff at Baptist Medical Center with a special thank you for Nurse Amee J. my recovery coach! Michael Bailey
