I broke my wrist on ice on Jan 22 of 2024. My entire experience at St Joseph was one of great care and most surprisingly, an abundance of empathy. I know that they see so many people with bigger problems than I, yet at every step and had professionals telling me how sorry they were that the break happened. Dr. Devers was always on time, never rushed me, and my outcome was outstanding; it healed perfectly and the scar is almost invisible. On my sign in sheet I had indicated that I was an atheist. He very kindly asked if I minded if he prayed over me before the surgery. I told him that was fine and that I appreciated the respect he showed to our different beliefs.

Dr. Devers was very thorough at initial visit, explaining in easy to understand vocabulary (reasons cyst had to be removed by surgery), and using visuals. Before surgery, he explained exactly what he was going to do and even prayed with us. After surgery, he explained what he saw and gave simple instructions to follow. A few days later, he personally called to give results.

Dr. Devers repaired a surgical mishap from my previous surgery with another doctor. He is kind, professional, and took his time with me to answer all my questions. I'm so glad I chose him!

My appointment was on time. The doctor came in, he was very professional well spoken and had a great personal manner. He speaks to where I could understand each time. Let me ask questions. All in all had an excellent visit and feel confident in my outlook with my issue. 10/10

My 1st appt. with Dr. Devers was May 2023. My wait was only 15 minutes past my appt. before being taken back to a patient room. A staff member confirmed my information & left for Dr. Devers. I waited 20 minutes before Dr. Devers arrived. He quickly discussed my osteoarthritis and injected my thumb with a steroid. He left and the staff member provided a brace & the appt. ended. I felt Dr. Devers rushed but relied on his professional reputation. My thumb joint developed a hard lump & is now more painful & grinds. At my follow up appt. I waited 40 minutes then was told I would have another 30 minute wait in the patient room. I did not have the additional time-off to stay and had to leave. I feel I have no choice but to consult with another Dr. since my hand is worse. Having to schedule a new appt. after waiting over 1 hour is not an option I can accept again. I am VERY disappointed with Dr. Devers. I would not want a Dr. to rush any patient’s appt. but this wait time was UNACCEPTABLE.

Dr Devers is a great person to take interest and review your input for symptoms and questions. He takes the time to be precise in options available and those that are appropriate for your given problems. I had 3 elbow operations for an uncommon arthritis condition which greatly improved my functioning. He also asked for and said a short prayer before the procedures. He is one of the best.

I met with Dr. Devers and loved his caring nature and bedside manner. He is very knowledgeable… so I scheduled and had surgery. That was a different experience… suddenly the doctor was on 2 vacations over my short time since surgery. His staff covering his on call hours and his vacation are mostly a joke. Not looking in charts and random care at best. All information conflicting when you see the doctor (in tears from pain, frustration, and petrified of the what the future holds permanency with nerve damage). I feel like since I had my surgery I am not worthy since they got my money. I am in so much nerve pain AFTER surgery (4+ weeks out) no help with answers or pain and left to drown in the misery of being unable to use my primary limb and pain. Sad sad thing that I came for help and left so much more broken. Physically and emotionally I am beyond defeated and left hopeless. I get my second opinion next week to HOPEFULLY fix the damage created during his surgery.

Dr Devers did surgery on my wrist and was the most kind, caring, and compassionate Dr I have yet to meet. He listens to your questions thoroughly answers all them. You are never rushed as with many Dr’s do to get patients in and out the door. Highly recommend him.

I was in pain and very worried. Dr Devers did a thorough diagnosis of my problem and was very kind and reassuring. Best specialist I've ever seen!

Only had my initial appt. Was out of office before my scheduled time. I was early and they went ahead & saw me. Even though I did not spend a lot of time there I was never rushed all my questions were answered. All my time there was spent as patient care as opposed to waiting. Surgery is scheduled & I feel I am in capable "hands"

Top notch care. Thorough with diagnosis. Excellent social skills (not a given with surgeons). Listened with concern. Thoroughly answered all my questions. Used the latest, least invasive procedure. Personally called to follow up on procedure. Very, very pleased with the care I was given. And a Vanderbilt residency is nothing to balk at!
