Dr. Brandon Worley, MD

My usual dermatologist found a small blemish on my cheek which a biopsy confirmed was cancer. He referred me to his in-house Mohs surgeon. I didn’t care for the consult; that surgeon had no personality and he just wanted to cut without thoroughly explaining then shrugging off what scaring might occur. This was my face and I didn’t want to come away looking like a pirate. It took me a week of hunting and questioning other dermatology offices until I finally found Dr. Worley. The consult proved him to be friendly, funny, thoughtful, and reassuring—things very important in any doctor. The surgery went incredibly well with practically no scar which scar mediation will further erase. I can’t praise Dr. Worley enough! If you ever need such surgery, this is the doctor to see.

My first appointment was amazing…having had issues with other dermatologist offices. I am from Northern VA and was really close to going back there for my care until I met Dr. Worley! The administrative process made it difficult for me to get a timely approval to see him…being very familiar with insurance processes, I was persistent and refused to let anyone deny me for unjustifiable reasons. It took me over several weeks to get an approval (which should not have taken that long). Dr. Worley is an ”excellent” doctor and trust me, my standards are high. He went out of his way many times to make sure I understood the procedure AND what to expect after! I had to reach out to him several times; within minutes, I got a response “from him” although I did not expect him to reach out to me himself. I reached out 3 times; one call was on a weekend and he responded without any delay. Dr. Worley went far beyond what I’ve expected. If I could give him 10 stars, that wouldn’t be enough!

On 5/25/2021, I had a 10:10 appointment at this Lake Wales office. I am on Medicare and also have Cigna insurance, Medicare is my primary. I signed in and showed both of my insurance cards. She wouldn't make a copy of my Medicare, I told her it was my primary, she said that Cigna over rides Medicare. She then told me I had a co pay of $20.00, I said I have two insurances' and have never paid a co pay. She then went in the back office to check on this, and came back yes I needed to pay a co pay. I again questioned why, then she went back again and checked with who she said was her supervisor. Yes I needed to pay a co pay, I then asked how do I get this money back, when I don't pay a co pay, away she went again and came back and told me that I needed to wait until open enrolment then go into that site and make changed to the Cigna plan, with this I walked out of the office. It was plain that the office staff had no idea what they were doing. Does this office not take Medicare?
