Dr. Brett Hailey, MD

Just shrugged off an infection, like no big deal. Didn’t weigh him. Didn’t give correct dosage for meds. Didn’t clean wound. Ended up at another hospital hours later and had to be admitted.

Dr. Hailey was dismissive. I was sent to the ER by urgent care. He looked at me and said: well there’s no test I can run for this to know why it’s this more painful. I’m a 31 year old woman. I KNOW my body and I know some months will be more painful than usual. Here’s what’s *not* normal: Laying on the ground in the fetal position, pale faced with a cold sweat from pain and elevated heart rate despite 4 ibuprofen. I will say he did take a few seconds to dismiss the possibility of a cyst, because the pain would be on one side. Oh, and to throw out there that he “could” do a urine test but that that would only detect if there was an infection, and he didn’t think that’s what was going on. Script for hydrocodone for 3 days and a suggested gyno appt. He didn’t offer any kind of differential diagnosis thoughts, other than ruling out a cyst. It felt like: can’t help you, here’s some pain meds though. I left feeling ignored & uninformed of what could be wrong.

Went to the Advent South ER was dehydrated from an infection. Dr Hailey was dismissive and clearly uninterested in me as a patient. I think I spent about 5 minutes total with him. I could understand if it was busy but it was not at all. If I was to go back there and saw he was the physician I would go elsewhere. The nurses were however outstanding. Caring true professionals.

Absolutely terrible doctor. He was very rude and did not care to listen to my concerns or questions. His nurse and he were talking about me behind the door, and I could hear the whole conversation. The documentation notes were very inaccurate and do not portray what actually went on during the visit. There is health information in there that is not correct. They made it seem like I was an inconvenience, and they couldn’t get me out of the door fast enough. I cannot express enough to avoid seeing this doctor. Really the whole staff there were very unhelpful. They did not seem to care one bit. I would not recommend Dr. Hailey at all, unless you want to be frustrated and feel like you are just wasting his time.

I just saw Dr. Hailey at the Prairie Star location early this morning. He was very sympathetic to my issues, did everything he could for me there and gave me instructions for when I got home. He was great.

Visited the Shawnee Mission Emergency at 95th and K-7, My wife had severe pain from Shingles. Dr Hailey and supporting nurses showed no empathy for her condition or pain. We ended up leaving with no treatment.
