Dr. Brian Abell, DO

Dr Abell has taken care of my daughter (now fully recovered and back to cross country and track) and now myself. Getting appointments was easier than expected in this day and age. He spent the time to explain the thought process and I left with a solid idea of the treatment plan and decision points depending on how I responded to treatment. Would strongly recommend.

Ankle issues, resolved

Dr. Abell is one of the best surgeons in the area! He and his staff is committed to the wellbeing and safety of their patients, and are always so helpful answering any and every questions I have. Any time I call Emily, she returns my call in a timely manner, most of the time within minutes. I have had multiple surgeries with him and they have always been a success. I have never trusted a doctor more.

Dr. Abell and Tony, his P.A., did an outstanding job on my reverse total shoulder replacement. I was up and moving within 2 days without pain medicine. I am 4 weeks post op and I have never felt better. His staff is great! If you are looking for a good surgeon, you have found the one. Not only does he specialize in shoulders, he is also is my foot and ankle doctor. The jack of all trades!!

Dr. Abell is a very kind doctor with outstanding bedside manner. I would recommend dr. Abell and his staff to everyone. they are very knowledgeable and kind.

Dr. Abell performed a bunionectomy on my foot in Jan. 2020. My foot hurt worse after the surgery than before it. He belittled me when i told him I had worse pain, basically dismissing my complaint. I was finally forced to contact a podiatric surgeon, who just performed surgery that corrected my first surgery. For the surgeon who's supposed to specialize in feet at his orthopaedic group, Dr. Abel's skills are seriously lacking, and he only wants to hear patients say good things about him. I was going to let him operate on my other foot this year, but I will definitely go to my podiatrist for that. Dr. Abell performed a completely useless surgery on me. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I would never recommend Dr. Abell. He did a terrible job on my bunion, and I had to find a podiatrist to do additional surgery to correct what Dr. Abell did wrong. Dr. Abell has a god-complex and does not listen to patients at all. He belittled me when I told him I had worse pain that prior to the surgery, telling me that nobody ever complained about his surgery. If he had listened to me, I wouldn't have had to find a podiatrist. Dr. Abell doesn't know what he's doing.

I was referred to Dr. Abell after a fracture had not healed in 14 weeks. First visit, took an x-ray and stated it was not healed. That was it. No recommendation except to continue to wait and have limited mobility--but not his problem. He was condescending and absolutely had an attitude. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. Really should have been zero chance instead of one star of likelihood of my recommending this doctor to anyone else. I am just sorry my insurance has to pay.
