As great experience as a colonscopy can be
He listened to me as I shared an unpleasant previous experience and put me at ease with professionalism and a bit of humor. He called to check on me the next day.

The Phantom Doctor
Dr. Carlson has virtually no bedside manner. In addition, he postponed or cancelled several of my appointments and delayed my endoscopy by two months. When I did finally get the procedure done, he didn't speak to me before or afterwards. He then kept delaying my follow up visits with him and wanted to refer me to his physician assistant (PA). I became so frustrated in trying to ascertain my next steps concerning my condition that I went to another gastroenterologist in another practice.

Unprofessional
The doctor's office is so disorganized, almost impossible to get through phone calls. The doctor himself orders expensive procedures you may not even need. The office fails to communicate with my health plan, I am left with a huge bill. Be very careful with them. If I can give 0 stars, I would!

INEPT OFFICE
Saw the Dr once (lasted 5 min).... typical Dr who doesn't really care. As a new patient, you need more than 5 min! Tried to call to make an appointment over a 6 day window leaving 4 VMs and NO ONE returns calls. Terrible customer care and service.

Terrible Office
These comments are more about the office than the doctors, although the doctors are ultimately in charge. I have never seen such inept staff in all my life. I had an endoscopy and swallowed a camera pill. Do you think I could get an appointment to go over the results? Yes….in two months!!! And, when I went in, instead of seeing a doctor, they put me with a PA who’s English I could barely understand. Her first words were, “Instead of me reading these results, tell me what your in here for.” And, this was AFTER I had my two procedures. It’s clear that this office is understaffed and overbooked. And, to have the doctors not care about going over the results with me for two months is shameful. I suggest going somewhere else.

Very nice doctor. A man of few words. Just like me. He told me thank you for coming. I said I had no choice. Then 10 seconds later I was knocked out cold. Woke up a hour later. Then I was on my way. Great Staff.

I am in the same boat as the others. No communication, the office staff are a bunch of kids that have no clue, the MA has to be the most incompetent MA ever or the doctor could care less. He should retire because at this point is isn't helping anyone.

This guy is a hack and works at a snail pace. Impossible to get ahold of and you never hear back. I wouldn’t even call this man a doctor.

Received a call today that my appointment has been cancelled - for the THIRD TIME - and every time it's because the doctor will be working at the Hospital and unavailable for patients. This seems to be totally incompetent and inefficient on the physician's part. Doesn't he care that someone is waiting for months for each appointment and that to have them cancelled time and again does a huge dis-service to the patient??!! I have worked in healthcare and understand the challenges, but this is bad.

We were lucky you get Dr Carlson when my husband was admitted as an emergency at sunrise hospital. Not only did he take great care of him but he was kind, compassionate and a great communicator to his family. He will be my husband's GI doctor from now on! Recommend highly.

I was sent to see Dr. Carlson for having a high (304) amylase level. I had and Xray, swallowed a camera and had an MRI done of my abdomen. After I swallowed a camera, Dr. Carlson nor anyone in his office called me. I waited two weeks after the MRI to contact his office. He still had not read the test results as of July 6th and he got the results on June 26th. I picked up my results and I have a 16x13 T2 Hyperintense mass on my liver. I still have not heard from his office 7/10/17
