No help here
Maybe would benefit from some updates or etiquette classes.I’ve never been overweight but only underweight ( despite this fact for medical billing they put overweight from eating too much lol) i tried my entire life to gain. The first time I gained anything( still not even close to overweight ) was with a medication to help me breathe. strangely helped my other symptoms and some kind of malabsorption I was told years previously. After being hospitalized multiple times with lots of info labs and ideas, I got no help here. At least be respectful. I found out from another doctor one hospital was looking into insulinoma and other. I didn’t even know I was in a coma thought it was unconscious and wondered why I had missing days….U could have at least told me what others found or something.

Dr isn't thorough and has an arrogant personality. I asked a question to confirm what i already knew and have been told by past endocrinologists and his answer was inaccurate. FYI I have had my condition longer than he's been a doctor.

Not interested in your personal reasoning.
Fell on hard times and was denied a re-fill on my TRT which is needed to remain in normal levels. I quote " If you cannot afford bloodwork every 6 months you shouldn't be on TRT" from Dr.Chou himself. Very unprofessional in terms of personability and didn't really care if they were helping as long as I was in normal range, which albeit I was still in the lower end of normal not feeling a difference than before. Find you a Dr who is willing to have compassion instead of just a job, if you say you don't feel better and they refuse to do anything go somewhere else, you will find someone that will listen.

Informed
I consider Dr. Chou honest, concise and informed. He provided me with analogies about my health concerns regarding a better understanding and treatment modalities. This was my first session but hopefully we can continue to maintain open communications for me to reach my goals.

I’ll just put it bluntly, the doctor is young and unprofessional. Not only is it basically his way or no way, but he pushes his own views and experiences onto patients. He also talks about his physical fitness along with what works for him so it will work for me. He constantly talks about intermittent fasting. He also wanted me to come back every couple of months for no reason, I have no medication from him or have any remaining medical conditions that need to be checked constantly and he wanted me to come in for a “check up” every other month for no reason. Once every six months to a year would have been sufficient, but no he basically told me I needed to. He needs to learn manners empathy, that he doesn’t know everything, and that what might work for him doesn’t mean he needs to push it onto patients. I will be finding a new endocrinologist.

Dr. Chou needs to put his big boy pants on. The negative comments so far are very accurate. He doesn’t have the maturity or patience to be seeing patients. His attitude and flippancy are appalling. I was given a referral to another endocrinologist by someone in the medical field who had heard this many times. Dr. Chou, if you’re reading this, and I hope that you are, you are losing patients. That might not be a problem for you but I would hope that you would really stop and consider how this is affecting people who really need a good doctor and how your behavior could have a negative impact on the people you are suppose to be helping. We need good doctors and I bet that you are really smart but if you don’t practice empathy it really doesn’t matter.

I really like Dr. Chou. He doesn't push medication on you and hears you out when you have a medication question. Thanks to him changing my thyroid medication that my PCP wouldn't, I am feeling a lot better. I struggle with his exercise approach, as I have tendinitis in my foot and ankle and have been in a walking cast for the last 8 months. We don't always see eye to eye on the diet issue, I am fat but I have a stomach condition. I don't eat much. My dietitian pushes food, and he says fast.

Dr. Should be parking cars, not seeing patients! Health issue question, his answer was “stop eating”! What kind of an idiot! Stay away from this quack!

I have been a patient of Dr. Chou for over a year. We have good give-and-take discussions at my appointments that has led to my understanding more about the methods and meds he prescribes for me. We do not always see eye-to-eye on the path forward for my diabetic care, but we work on it together. I am encouraged that when I follow his directions I move toward a future with zero diabetes meds. He willingly considers a holistic approach to my diet that includes "alternative" foods and timing.

I see Dr. Chou for my Thyroid condition and he is one of the best doctors I have seen, he helps me understand my condition and the medication I take. I am the kind of person who is picky about who I see and I am glad I see him, he is amazing.

I would not recommend this Dr to anyone not even my worst enemy. I have diabetes and he is my NEW Endocrinologist and he refused to refill a script that is extremely important to my health and refused to fill it until I see him. I cant get in to see him for a month a 1/2. That is unacceptable.

Dr. Chou is very thorough; particularly on your first visit. You don't feel rushed and he goes through your health history with fine detail. I think he is pretty set on how he feels about what his patients need to do and maybe should spend more time talking about their lifestyles and age, rather than pushing his agenda. I know he is about fitness but not all of us can do the things he suggests.

He was very egotistical and would hardly listen to what I said. His attitude was almost rude to a point and I would never trust him. He told me that me wanted to change one of my medications because he thought it was not the right one for me. When I went to pick up the medication the druggist asked me if I really wanted to get off my blood pressure medication!!! Really??? The druggist told me that he would tear up the prescription that he sent. Will never go back!!!
