I had been diagnosed with a rotator cuff tear that failed to get better after 8 months of PT. My local orthopedic surgeon recommended surgery. Prior to scheduling that, we decided to get a second opinion at HSS. I was referred to Dr. Halpern. He diagnosed that my problem was a torn bicep. I found Dr. Halpern to be very caring- a quality rarely found in doctors at the top of their game. I highly recommend him.

I was recommend to Dr. Halpern by a longtime friend. I was able to get an appointment the same week I called. When I arrived at the office, I only had to wait in the waiting area for 5 minutes before my name was called. Dr. Halpern was terrific and his staff was extremely friendly. Definitely recommend Dr. Halpern

No nonsense physician; very punctual and extremely helpful; always on time, no wait time. I have been a patient for several years and have come to him for multiple different issues since our first encounter; it is true he does not accept insurance however it's a small price to pay considering the larger view of excellent accurate medical care. A ONE OF A KIND PHYSICIAN & THANKS TO HIM; I GOT BACK IN THE GAME

I was recommended by a colleague to Dr Halpern for my left knee pain. His office was very pleasant and was able to squeeze me in at the last minute. My wait time was minimal and he answered all of my questions. He's definitely down to earth and easy to talk to.

Dr. Halpern was great for my condition. I had a tennis elbow injury that prevented me from playing tennis, some other doctors wanted to do surgery, but I wanted to find a non-surgical route. He offered a platelet therapy (PRP). I had fantastic results and I am back to playing tennis pain free and with no issues.

I ended up cancelling my appointment with Dr. Halpern after learning: 1) he does not take insurance; 2) the initial consultation is $460(!); 3) The consultation is only scheduled for 20 minutes 4) They tell you to come in with x-rays or MRI's, even if you are not sure what, exactly, your injury is. $460 is outrageous for 20 minutes, and I have trouble believing 20 min is sufficient for an accurate diagnosis. I guess you are not worthy of his time ,if you are not wealthy.

Very thoughtful, an excellent conduit to the resources of HSS. Dr. Halpearn does not do surgery; he is an good diagnostician who can determine what kind of care you need and how to best utilize the resources of HSS on your behalf.
