I developed really bad eye inflammation and pain over the weekend and called Dr. Herst’s office first thing Monday morning. Although I’m a new patient, who had not seen him previously, he got back to me within a half hour of me giving my info to the receptionist. Due to the risk of my coming in, because of Covid-19, we did a FaceTime appointment so he could diagnose the issue. He called in medication right away. He was patient in answering all my questions as well as taking his time in providing a thorough explanation of my issue. I would not hesitate to ever call him in the future for any issues with my eyes!

Dr.Herst saw me on very short notice because of an insurance issue. From the minute I walked in the extremely professional staff made my experience great. Dr. Herst diagnosed and treated my condition . wish I could give him 10 stars,

I saw Dr Herst when he was a resident at Rush, he went way out of his way to help diagnose my problem. I came back for my annual eye exam and was sorry he is no longer here. He was a caring and careful practitioner and I miss him.

There was a bit of a wait between the initial intake with the nurse and seeing Dr. Herst, but it was worth it. He was very patient, friendly, provided understandable explanations and I didn't feel like he was rushing to get to the next patient which was really nice. I'd definitely recommend him to others. I was originally told that it would be a couple weeks to get in, but the office unexpectedly called me back the same day to offer me a spot 2 days later that opened with a cancellation.

I was having disturbing blurring of vision while reading and driving. When I called my opthimologisst's office and said that I needed to see my doctor or an associate soon, i was told that there was not an appointment for almost two weeks. I called Dr. Herst's office and they got me in that same day.
