Cold person
Started off really liking him. Wound up not liking him due to his Rude and mean demeanor and comments. Luckily I went to Mt Sinai in NYC and have the most wonderful Oncologist and human being treating me. Dr M also knew very little about multiple myeloma and proper treatment. When I had an alergic reaction to one of the oral chemo pills he tookMe off and said I couldn’t go back on. Mt Sinai Dr said not true and was able to get me back on it which is fortunate since Revlimid is one of the key treatments Thanks to Mt Sinai I amAlive and well and have total confidence in their expertise and find comfort with their compassion. My dr truly cares about all of his patients and fights every day to help find new treatments and hopefully a cure. What a night and day difference between having a compassionate person in your corner vs a rude and pompous one

Dr. McNelis is the most compassionate, caring doctor I have ever met. He never rushes you, answers all my questions and follows up when you call. He puts everything into layman’s terms so that it is easy to understand what is being done to treat your condition. Very happy I found him. Have upmost confidence in him.

I had an extremely positive experience with Dr. McNelis and I am so very grateful to have found him. He is kind, genuine, compassionate, and determined to make sure I receive the best care possible. Dr. McNelis has never made me feel rushed in his office nor on the phone, he has been very reliable and I can always count on him to follow-up. He is meticulous and incredibly thorough and I admire the way he practices. Dr. McNelis is by far -everything I could ever hope for in an Oncologist!

It is bad enough. you are dealing with a sick loved one. Dr McNelis is the worst Dr I have ever met. He is nasty and uncaring. Do not use him. I still cant believe how poorly we were treated and its been two years.

Dr. McNelis treated my Dad for bladder cancer. He was extremely unkind and very short with any questions my Dad asked him. He also refused to explain his answers in more detail when asked. Instead of continuing with chemo, which was working to an extent, he went to immunotherapy, using a medication that had been shown to be uneffective a few days before my Dad received it. We found out about this after he passed, and another oncologist verified our findings. Unacceptable for an oncologist!

Dr. McNelis initially comes of as a decent person, do not get fooled like my family was. all he cares about is money and giving expensive treatments. He is the most uncaring, arrogant Dr. or person for that matter. What ever you do, STAY AWAY!

Dr Mcnelis is a wonderful and caring physician and feel amazingly blessed to have him as my oncologist. I? have been under his care for 4 years after being diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. And would recommend him to anyone with a cancer diagnosis. He always personally calls with test results as well.

Writing this in hopes I could save other patients the heartache & helpless feeling my ill family member & I felt as her caretaker while under Dr. McNelis' care. Initially presented as a warm & knowledgeable physician. Soon after chemo began, my family member had to be rushed to the ER. Contacted Dr. McNelis after hours. He was HIGHLY abrasive and said "What do you want me to do about it!?", & Hung up on me. UNPROFESSIONAL, no support at all. I highly advise avoiding this physician at all costs.

My experience with Dr.McNelis was many ago.At that time, I had just received a diagnosis of ovarian cancer. He visited me in the hospital shortly after surgery. I was very anxious about undergoing chemotherapy along with having the diagnosis of cancer. His knowledgeable, reassuring, friendly manner help to alleviate some of my fears. His thorough explanation of the course of my treatment, enabled me to feel a little more hopeful and positive. It is now 19 years later.I thank him for this this time
