Dr Vanderby infected injection
Dr Vanderby gave me a shot in my right thigh for bursitis. The needle was infected. I haven’t walked for 2yr 8mo. Needed my hip replaced and then 5mo at the Alden for rehab. I have never heard from her to apologize. I think that is the least she could do!

Pain is gone
Brooke diagnosed my pain, explained the source and told me how I could alleviate my pain. She also started with non-invasive solution to start.

Pain specialist in Wilmette
Dr. Vanderby was rude and rushed me through. She provided very little help to help me with a serious injury. I will never go back to her, nor recommend her. She showed no compassion and rushed me out of there.

Worst chop shop EVER!!
This doctor is unaffected / unemotional and pushes shots just so she could maximize her salary. My husband went in and got a cortisone shot for the major discomfort in his neck and that only lasted a week. Then he went in and she was quick to put him in a room and give him three shots to his neck which she said he would feel 80% better (which he didn't not even 1%). Then he called to speak to the dr. bc the was supposed to get another 3 shots and he wanted to know if he should even bother. The receptionist said he would have to come in and talk to the dr or do a telehealth. He said he didn't want to stop his day just so he could have a conversation. She wouldn't leave a note for the dr so he wrote the dr directly. It's been a week and a half and she still hasn't responded. Clearly she doesn't have her patients best interest in mind. He cancelled his appt and will NEVER be going back! Worst experience EVER!

Very Effective Pain Relief
Recently, I developed painful sciatic on the right side. MRI showed a bulge at L2-L3. Dr. Vanderby reviewed the MRI with me and confirmed her opinion that my new pain was caused by this bulge. She also asked me where I was experiencing the radiating pain. She explained the process and I got my first steroid injection. There was minor discomfort and I could feel the nerve light up. She definitely hit the right spot. I had no residual problems and went back to work right after the injection. I resumed workouts after a day off. I began to feel relief the same day of the injection and over the next few days the pain faded away. I went for a scheduled 2nd injection 3 weeks later. This has kept the pain at bay for almost 9 weeks. Recently, it has just started to creep back. But considering how bad the pain was, 9 weeks of complete relief was pretty amazing. I suspect there will be additional injections in my future. Dr. Vanderby is a skilled and caring physician.

Ive been to around 8 pain doctors in the past 20 years for back injections. Shes the only one where I hardly feel any pain or discomfort from the injection. Has the best personality and knowledge. Also a very kind and caring professional pain doctor. She takes great care of her patients and has a great office staff.

In response to the review indicating Dr. Vanderby should have mentioned the injection would be painful is ridiculous. It is 100% common sense that if you are having an injection (not a little shot in your arm) it's not going to be comfortable. I am a relatively new patient and just had my third injection in my back. It is not an exact science as to the exact location of where to inject. Everyone has a different issue and I think dr. Vanderby is wonderful even though I don't have 100% relief.

I went to Dr. VanDerby for an outpatient epidural shot to relieve lower back pain in addition to a nerve issue that was in extreme pain. I met with her 2 weeks prior to the procedure. At the time, she did NOT bring up the crucial information concerning the pain in which SHE would inflict during the procedure. She did NOT advice me that there was a sedation option that should have been administered during this procedure to prevent me from feeling the extreme paint that she inflicted upon me.
