Dr Emmerson was fabulous!! I had total right knee replacement on May 14, 2020 and everything about the pre surgery, surgery and post surgery were perfect. The pre surgery meetings with Dr. Emmerson demonstrated he was completely knowledgable, qualified and supportive. The surgery was flawless and I was completely comfortable, waking up with an amazing feeling of well being. The post surgery procedures by Dr. E and all the medical staff were completely professional with amazing positive support. I love Goleta Valley Hospital for it's comfortable and homey atmosphere. Now I've completed all my at home physical therapy and half my therapy at SB Physio and I've been amazed at their dedication, professionalism and positive support. Dr. E is a great listener and has outstanding answers and suggestions for all my questions about what to expect during the course of my recovery.

My mother had a total knee replacement surgery on July 12th 2017, she was sent home with a paper RX, to only last her 6 days. After several attempts for a refil, she has now been out of pain management medication for 3 days after only being post op 1 week. TERRIBLE AFTER CARE & PAIN MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!

Had my right hip replaced 10 weeks ago. Age 70. Excellent surgeon! All went so well. He pays great attention to details. I had some special needs because of a previous spinal cord injury. He did not forget a thing. He explains everything and nicely checks on you. He does a lot of hip and knee work and sees a lot of patients but always remembers you on a personal level. His surgery scheduler is a really thoughtful, caring, and detailed person. Sansum Clinic is top notch. Great hospital.

I am 71 years old and Dr. Emmerson replaced my right knee in May of this year. After 6 weeks of physical therapy I could walk and undertake other activities easily. Now three months since the surgery, I feel better than I did before the surgery and continue to improve. I look forward to a life with no significant constraints on what I am able to do, including long distance walking, skiing and fly fishing in California's rivers. I could not be more pleased with the outcome Dr. Emmerson enabled.

Excellent surgery skills and I made a rapid recovery after hip replacement surgery. Dr. Emmerson was very attentive in his hospital follow up each day and in setting follow up appointments.
