Didn’t bother reading my file
My first two visits to Eckert were good. After subsequent visits it became obvious that he wasn’t reading my file and had no idea what issues I was trying to solve, and recommended some very incompatible treatments - when politely corrected on this, he became visibly upset and was borderline rude. He also responded to an unrelated emailed question in a very unprofessional way. Hard pass.

Used my depression medication as leverage.
My parents and I all saw Dr. Eckert for several years, and each of us decided to leave for different primary physicians over separate incidents. He decides whatever his first idea for treatment is best and will not budge, regardless of patients’ preferences or objections, and he refuses to explain or discuss his reasoning. I finally left when he threatened to cut me off my depression medication cold turkey if I didn't start seeing him more frequently. I had asked to make less frequent visits because I was having trouble affording the trips and check ups, and nothing had changed in my treatment or my condition in over two years. Instead he effectively threatened to hold my meds ransom, telling me in no uncertain terms that if I didn’t do exactly as he said he would cancel all my prescriptions immediately. When I told him it sounded like an ultimatum, not a treatment plan, he laughed in my face and told me he “isn’t negotiating” about it.I had been his patient for well over a decade.

Such a great experience!
I had an appointment with Dr. Eckert today. It was a last-minute appointment and my primary care physician was booked. Dr. Eckert was friendly and knowledgeable. He put me at ease right away, and he was genuinely interested in helping me with my situation. Dr. Eckert asked lots of really good questions, and came up with a plan for me with several options. I appreciated his professionalism, but most of all it was just so nice to feel cared about. Truly an excellent doctor.

Could Care Less
Dr. Eckart leaves you, as soon as possible, with the impression that he could care less about your issue. My experience with him is unacceptable. No explanation as to what he feels the root cause is, what I should be doing long term, how I feel/think about my condition and basically just doesn't care. Next thing you know-he disappears and the assistant is telling to that it's over.

Maybe it's about how you look or how you sound, not sure. Dr. Eckert doesn't care at all and he doesn't want to talk to you or help you. You could tell him about your problems but he is not hearing you and he won't provide a solution. He does the bare minimum to get you out the door. There are things he just simply refuses to do and I mean things that are part of any doctor's job. His assistant is worse than he is which might explain them working together. Avoid at all costs.

I saw Dr Eckert for a follow up after a visit to the ER. Sadly my regular primary care physician was on vacation at the time. Dr. Eckert was arrogant, condescending, and dismissive. I will never allow scheduling to book an appointment for me with him again.

Not much attention to detail, doesn't take much interest and lacks basic communication skills that a physician should have
