Top Cornea Surgeon In Atlanta
Dr Cook, which perhaps not having the best bedside manner, is an excellent surgeon that I would recommend to anyone. His experience and knowledge has resolved several ongoing issues with my cornea transplant including recommending novel courses of treatment that would not have been recommended by other Doctors. When I have my other eye done, it will not be by anyone else than Dr Cook.

Dr. Cook, cataracts
I went to Dr. Cook for cataract surgery in 2017 and found myself needing cataract surgery in my other eye this year, 2024. Dr. Cook was excellent both times, with some advancements between 2017 and 2024. If you are on oxygen he will do the surgery at Northside Hospital in Cumming. This surgery is easier than going to the dentist! I wish I had 40 eyes and only 2 teeth!

My experience with Dr. Cook was not a good one. If you’ve had RK surgery, do NOT go to him for surgery. My eye doctor recommended him so when he told me he couldn’t do laser on me I didn’t question it. Big mistake! My vision is worse than it was before the surgery which my regular eye doctor confirmed. I can feel the lense and it constantly vibrates. I have bad halos in the evenings. Needless to say I canceled my left eye. I’m out 1700 after insurance paid and now am seeing another surgeon who is going to correct the issue using what..... laser. Another 2300 because a doctor didn’t handle surgery correctly. Always get a second opinion!

I had the Visian ICL surgery done by Dr. Cook. He was very thorough and professional with my care during the operation and the many follow-up visits I've had thus far. The surgery was a success and I'm wearing a small prescription pair of glasses until my PRK surgery to remove the residual prescription the lens did not cover as my eyes are -18.25 and 18.50 diopters. I knew the lenses only treated -16 diopters. Extremely satisfied!

Grateful for Dr Cook - research! '16 cataracts. Thorough exam. Date set. Explained everything -took his time- RK in '93 with 8 cuts reshaping each cornea-was very concerned re eyes. The surgery center-terrific. Dr Cook stopped by prior to surgery & reviewed procedure again. IV administered in surgery room w him & staff present. I was/am extremely pleased. Follow-up next day & then in week, etc. 2nd eye done 2 weeks later. Follow-up once a year. Recommend him highly. Teaching physician too!

RK in '93 caused cornea to be very, very flat; in addition eye depth is 27mm.. Hearing that, I wanted a cataract and cornea specialist. Dr. Cook was recommended by a neighbor. Because of the above 2 problems, getting an exact reading was difficult. The surgery on my right eye was performed early February. I am blown away - my vision is perfect. I am excited that my left eye will be done next week. He is awesome - cares deeply about what he does and your results. Highly recommend.

After cataract surgery I now have double vision because, according to Dr. Cook, I didn't pay the $1,400 for special corrective lense. Also, now need extra strength reading glasses for same reason. I was told Medicare covered surgery 100% only to be charged $295 the day of the surgery. His solution is to wait 6 months (with double vision) then have lasic surgery. My solution: Get a different Doctor.
