Dr. Houghton is amazing and excellent at what she does. I have achalasia and was miserable, unable to eat or drink properly. Prior to surgery, she explained the process thoroughly, answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable in going forward with her as my Doctor. She is very knowledgeable. The surgery went smoothly, and afterwards she called my other half and related to him how it went. He was very pleased also. He said she was very detailed in explaining. It has been a year and the follow up process is great. I feel grateful in having her as my doctor!

Dr. Houghton is the best, she’s very good at explaining everything and listened to everything I was concerned about! She cured me of my GERD and acid reflux that I had for 10+ years with the LINX. After suffering a number of years, &;not being properly diagnosed, I feel so fortunate to be recommended & referred to Dr Houghton. Dr Houghton scheduled me for a biopsy & immediately diagnosed me as systematic, scheduling me for Hiatal Hernia surgery, Nissen Fundiplcation, & Stage 1 Barrett's esophagus at Hoag. She is a highly skilled, knowledgeable surgeon who is dedicated to addressing esophageal & gastro diseases, including Gerd, hiatal hernia, achalasia & cancer. She has impressive, excellent credentials, a fellowship & robotics training. This dr. deserves an award for the lives she's saved & will save in the years to come! Prior, to being referred to Dr Houghton, when I remained undiagnosed & suffering, I went to a surgeon at Saddleback Hospital who specializes in the treating the same ,diseases as Dr Houghton, & over a 7 -8 month period I remained undiagnosed!
