This kid needs to go back to school. Gave many opinions that are contrary to what other more experienced doctors gave. I was warned not to go back to Dr Schmid, he is playing with my life.

Had trouble with billing. He assured me it would be billed under something that was covered by my insurance. After the fact and his office billed it wrong he basically told me it was my problem not his. So now I'm stuck with a huge bill I can't pay. I shouldn't have trusted his word. Lesson learned and will be checking myself from now on before I do anything.

Intelligent, caring and wonderful doctor.
I was greatly impressed with my visit with Dr. Caleb Schmid. He is very intelligent and took the time to review ALL health symptoms that I have been having and my complete medical history, he reviewed my CT images with me and even talked about positive findings that were not related to my endocrine system and adrenal gland tumor. He genuinely cared about my health and coming up with a health care plan. I highly recommend Dr. Schmid and the OHSU care team.

Does not put patient health first
I have been suffering from extreme fatigue and other symptoms that indicate something is very wrong. Dr. Schmid routinely schedules me 3 months out, despite labwork showing me as not in range. I have had hypothyroidism for over 20 years. In the past when I have come to an endocrinologist with worrisome symptoms and labs, I would be scheduled again in 4-6 weeks to ensure that meds are working and symptoms are decreasing. Dr. Schmid does not put patient health first.

Doesn’t listen and isn’t very knowledgeable. I’m surprised since OHSU usually has a higher caliber of doctors. Disappointing.
