Dr. Lei is great. Staff is terrible. I was a patient of Dr. Lei's for 12 years. Very satisfied with the care. Then he joined Stanford Healthcare group. It became hard to get an appointment. When the pandemic hit, he was responsive to questions via the MyHealth app and even prescribed some medication. In 2023 when I needed a physical, his staff said that I was a 'new patient' and would have to wait ~6 mo. for an appointment. Apparently, communicating via the app during the pandemic didn't count so I had not seen him in 3 years and Stanford automatically removed me from his patient list. The staff would not consider my argument that I was trying to stay away during the pandemic due to the overload of the healthcare system. They would not listen and intercepted any of my attempts to directly communciate with Dr. Lei. Well, staff you win. Dr. Lei now has one less patient!

My family’s PCP is Dr. Calvin Lei at Stanford. He is calm, patient, empathetic, a great listener, we absolutely love him. He helped my daughter with dengue fever when she was abroad in South America. I trust him completely.

Doctor is great in person but does not respond to lab test results, does not reply phone call, does not respond to messages in MyHealth App. Phone number provided is not for clinic but a call center. Do not bother to leave messages as one will respond.

Great Doc
I've been seeing Dr. Lei for about 15 years. He's fantastic. Of course everybody is struggling to work with the insurance hassles these days, they don't give the doctors enough time to do a good job. Some doctors just rush. Dr. Lei really takes his time, the old fashioned way, and so you feel like you're getting the best care you can.

Terrible, was told he was a great Dr, found out he will not treat you with respect or discuss treatments. Tried to make follow up appt for chronic illness, was told he would see me in 9 months for a physical. Has a assembly line process for patients!

Dr. Lei is fantastic!!! No matter what ails you he can help, if not he will refer you to a equally wonderful specialist. Dr. Lei takes his time and listens carefully to make you all better. (when I first met him I thought he was so quite...that because he is listening to me) He truly cares about each patient. Me and my son have been with him for about 15 years and we are healthy thanks to Dr. Lei!!

I don't recommend this doctor. He hasn't got back after my test results are received. He didn't discuss about the failed tests and how to improve the health. Also he hasn't responded to my messages when i myself reached out to doctor to about my health condition.

As Dr Lei's patient for 2 years now, I always have a pleasant and wothwhile interaction with him during my visits and my husband's as well. He is very knowledgeable and amiable and patiently explains any condition that we may need to know about. We feel very comfortable with him and can ask him any questions without being intimidated. He is a great doctor and will recommend him to my friends and relatives.
