Never felt so discriminated against
I used to be a nun, and for some reason had very heavy bleeding and ended up in the care of Dr Chibwesha while she was doing her residency at Brown. She was rude and disrespectful, dismissed my request of using a small speculum because of pain, and was always making comments about my beliefs when I didn’t even bring them up once. Regardless of what you thought of your patients or their occupation, or different beliefs, you should always be kind to your patients. I have since left that lifestyle and actually became a doctor myself, but the trauma in that room is still with me. For someone that has on paper done so much for others, it’s hard to reconcile the discrimination and being treated like I’m subhuman. Hope the people in Africa have made her a better human being
