Dr Moreira explained she has done this procedure 1oo of times & it was going to be painless Given trust that this procedure was painless I had it done..It was the worst pain I experienced! I've had a 2nd degree burn so I know pain I felt the Stent going up my leg,I felt the poking & struggle she was having moving Stent up my twisted veins I screamed & cried She asked if I wanted her to stop I wanted to swear & say are you kidding me you're halfway there you might as well get it done. It felt like I was in the 1800s with the stick in my mouth and you're ripping out my kidneys while I was awake. My entire leg was swollen for 6wks..All that was recommended was elevate, ice & walking.Which I was doing a lot of walking.Left a lot of messages for a return phone call NEVER got it!!I Had 3 more procedures to get done With the experience of extreme pain & lack of poor communication I canceled .I read a review of a woman who had the same experience.Wish I read reviews 1st I felt POORLY TREATED

Not a great experience
Not my regular doctor, covering for my surgeon. Dealt with her twice over the phone. VERY short and dismissive and of no help whatsoever when I was having issues.Hospital visit was just as disappointing. Again very short with me and dismissive. Honestly not comfortable asking questions. Even treated her student not so nice. the way she spoke to him was like a child being punished!Thank god she is not my surgeon. My doc is 100 times nicer and so much more professional

Vascular Factory
Felt like I was just a cog in the wheel at their factory. Condition and proposed treatment not explained well (she admitted this at my 2nd try at getting a solution). After testing was done the results were given to me not by the doctor, but by a PA - and my questions were not answered well. After getting a 2nd opinion elsewhere I had the procedure done - not the one Dr. Moreira proposed that did not make sense to me, but one that actually has addressed the problem. When I called to cancel my appointment I was not asked if I wanted to reschedule - because you don't matter there. I had called while she was still my doctor, because I had a ruptured varicose vein and it took her PA SIX HOURS to return my call. She told me to go to a treatment center (which I'd done hours before). When I did see the doctor she told me I could have just applied pressure for 10 minutes to stop the bleed. Is it any wonder I didn't trust what the PA told me after testing?

My first appointment with Dr. Moreira, I was her first appointment of the day, she was 1.5 hours late. Eventually I had Sclerotherapy performed on right leg. I had continuous problems &she did not seem to care about my bad reaction to whatever petrochemical she used to collapse the vein. Was told procedure would not be painful; and it was painful. On followup appointment, she was not present & technician did the scan (vein collapse was fine). However, my lower leg blew up 4 times the size, was extremely itchy & was bright red. Technician called the Dr. & conveyed back to me that I needed to elevate the leg, take Advil, and call Monday. By Monday my ENTIRE leg was red, swollen 4x size, & extremely itchy. Dr was not in on Monday but sent message to get on predisone pack. Week +1/2 later still swollen & went in to see her. I had a reaction to the chemical she said take Advil & elevate. It is now 1.5 months later.... still swollen & no call from her. Disgusted & going to another Doc.

A surgeon willing to listen to the facts and able to find resolve to issues that have troubled me for years! Issues that other doctors dismissed and/or hadn't the ability or the care to piece together. My initial visit with her I went in expecting the usual, 3 procedures and several visits later she has restored my faith in a doctor/ surgeons objective to work in the best interest of the patient! Wonderful doctor and human being!!
