Dr. Carmelita Lugue, DO

I would rather nail my eyes shut than EVER going back to see this woman. I have never been so gaslit and dismissed and TRAUMATIZED BY A 'ROUTINE' OFFICE PROCEDURE!!! The lack of care surrounding a woman's pain is disgusting. I'd rather walk off a cliff. Stay away. Stay far away from this monster.

I’ve seen her several times now for issues with my period. Each time she has been so rude and has spoken to me like I’m an absolute idiot. I know that I don’t understand everything that goes on inside my body, but I am not a stupid person! Her immediate suggestion was that I go on some sort of birth control to regulate the hormones causing my problems. I raised my concerns about the side effects of birth control and she told me that all of the things I had heard about it from friends were exaggerated and untrue. Overall, she totally sucks, and lacks any sort of actual care for her patients.

I came to the emergency room with terrible abdominal pain. She quickly recognized the issue and took me to the operating room where I had a ruptured ovarian cyst that wasn't visible on the CT scan. I was bleeding into my abdomen and they took out 500 cc's of blood. If she chose a wait and see approach things could have been worse.

I have been having severe hormonal fluctuations and PMS symptoms (runs in my family) and have done everything to help alleviate them on my own. Tired of struggling with this, I tried bringing my concerns to her during my last appointment. She was very dismissive and showed zero concern for me and how this is impacting my life. Dr. Luge is competent if you have zero issues and all you need is a pap smear and a basic exam. But, if you're having issues like mine that require more empathy and concern, look elsewhere.

I visited 6/23. I was six weeks pregnant with blood clots and experiencing bleeding like menstrual cycle more than spotting. I immediately went to emergency room right afterward my visit with her to find out I was threatening a miscarriage. During my prenatal care I would see Dr Harris but I had to visit his assistant Dr Lugue very unprofessional and unconcerned and rude as I was high risk pregnancy. I asked her why was I experiencing so much bleeding during this pregnancy more than spotting her exact words You have baby today and crossed her fingers meaning to hope that I will be pregnant days ahead. As a professional doctor they’re role is to care for patients and tell them what they may encounter instead of having them to think on their own wondering what’s gonna happen next which is what I experienced from her.

Very friendly. Sat down to talk with me. Understands. I recommend her!
