Dr. Carolina Alvayay, MD

Multiple issues. The phone eliminates a lot of miscommunication, especially when you’re dealing with someone’s health and an older person. Unfortunately this staff is more into emailing rather than calling. Also, two appointments were changed without then “contacting” me. They think because they send you a message that it’s ok. Once I finally received a phone call I was frustrated due to the multiple emails stating to send in a prescription that my insurance company requested, months later they still haven’t sent the prescription in. Alvayay thinks that since she hasn’t had luck with ins companies reversing their decision that it can’t be done. She’s wrong again, I’ve managed to have decisions reversed. I’m a 20 plus year patient of Sutter Health and can say I’ve NEVER had an issue with a doctor of their staff like I have with Alvayay. I’m a 59 year old disabled man that feels like I’ve been treated unfairly and not given the treatment I deserve.

We have had two extremely unpleasant appointments with Dr. Alvayay. She doesn’t listen to your concerns, mocks you when you bring up concerns, and shuts down any other ideas. She is very rude and makes you leave feeling upset and like you’re an idiot for having concerns. These appointments are for my daughter so as a parent just trying to do what’s best for my child, it is absolutely not okay to be treated this way. Will never go back.

I have been seeing Dr.Alvayay for approximately 5 years. She really cares and takes her time explaining things. She has helped me when other urologists have not. I can’t recommend her enough

To make a long story shorter: my son recently saw the Dr as a new patient. After reviewing the patient file, she recommended a treatment was is not FDA approved for children under 17 for over 7 days. When i asked for an alternative treatment, she insinuated that my desire for alternative treatment was niece and infurior to her medical expertise. She refused to give any alternate recommendations and reminded me, “It would serve well for me to be more respectful to set a better tone for my sons treatment.” -we absolutely will not return to her office.

Dr. Alvayay is great. She has excellent bedside manner. She explains thing very well.

I would recommend Dr.Alvayay without hesitation. excellent bedside manner and explains things thoroughly. Sometimes runs a little late but that is because she actually care and taker her time with you. I have been seeing her for 7 years.
