Dr. Carolyn Couture, MD

My husband and I recently moved from another state to CT to be close to our family. We were looking for a doctor who would take care of our medical needs as we age. We feel thankful and privileged to find such a caring doctor as Dr. Couture. She took the time to sit down with each of us separately and asked specific questions about our medical needs and concerns. We never felt rushed, her staff was incredibly professional and very affable. Next day, Dr Couture took the time to call me and later my husband to discuss the previous day's test results! No doctor has ever done that before. Thank you Dr. Couture....you practice medicine at its best.

On March 15, 2024, I received the worst news: my husband was diagnosed that morning with colon cancer Stage 4 with involvement in the liver and lymph nodes. Devastated, I fortunately had a check up myself with Dr Couture. She listened carefully, understood my distress and asked a few questions. Then she pointed out to me that treatment of Stage 4 cancer has come a long way and treatment was now much improved and more hopeful even than it had been 5 years earlier when my daughter had had breast cancer. We are a month down the road from that day and doing well. As others have pointed out, Dr Couture is an excellent diagnostician, thorough in her examinations and knowledgeable in her referrals to specialists. She pays close attention when you describe your symptoms and she maintains a clinical awareness of all of the factors that affect your health. And she is a kind, compassionate and concerned professional . For 20 years, she has been an exemplary Internist. Ellie is also great!!

Dr. Couture has been my primary care physician for the past 10 years. My husband and I have always felt fortunate to have access to an amazing clinician, who truly cares and has excellent bed side manner. When Dr. Couture announced that she was establishing her own concierge practice, we did not hesitate to follow her. It is almost hard to believe that things could get any better, but Dr. Couture's entire staff is focused solely on the well-being and convenience of her patients. Her practice is a throw back to an earlier time when doctors and patients had the luxury of visits that didn't feel timed, where the doctor truly knew and understood their patient as a person first and a patient second, appointments were never a challenge to obtain, and follow up discussions were made by the doctor herself. Dr. Couture, Joy and Ellie put the well in well-being and for that, we feel most fortunate.

Carolyn has been my primary care physician for at least the last ten years. When she was working for Stanford Health she always took time to go over everything in detail and never kept a patient waiting, truly a paradigm shift from my previous physician. Now that she's on her own in Wilton center the service is even better! She's thoughtful, concerned, personable, knowledgeable, and above all professional. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Dr. Couture is very knowledgeable, thorough and caring. As my doctor for over 15 years, she knows my health history, and has gone above and beyond when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in other emergency situations. Highly recommend.

I have been a patient of Dr. Couture’s for at least 20 years. I have followed her practice moves and now joined her concierge practice because she is the best partner one could want in healthcare. She is compassionate and always takes time to really listen to you. She is knowledgeable and up on the latest research. She is a reader and ensures she is on top of the current medical data and studies. She was referred to me by the Department chair of family practice medicine at Danbury Hospital as someone who met those criteria. I have not been disappointed. She is also thorough and respected by the specialists who treat me. She listens and takes time to answer my questions. She is an outstanding and very trusted physician. Dr. Couture has been my primary care physician for 13 years during which period she has proven time and again that she has the ideal and rare combination of qualities as a doctor and a primary care physician - above all carefully listening to the patient and explaining everything clearly, knowledgeable and up-to-date in her field, truly caring and compassionate, committed to the best interest of the patient first and foremost serving as the patient's advocate with other parties, seeking the best when referral to a specialist becomes necessary and following up on the specialist's consultation. As a patient it is easy to trust her completely, in addition to which she is pleasant!

She has always been a very thorough, competent practitioner with an excellent bedside manner, and her recent transition to a concierge medical practice has only improved my experience as a patient. Dr. Couture is very knowledgeable, caring and thorough. She makes a point of knowing my history and identifying my risks. You know that she is in the game of maximum quality of life with you, and she is a partner and coach in helping you be your healthiest self. When I have had serious health issues, her diagnoses are spot on, and she has referred me to excellent practitioners and followed up with them and with me. I am very grateful to have her as my doctor. Never had better care!

I’ve trusted Dr. Couture as my primary care physician for over 10 years now. Most recently I had a sciatic pain attack in the morning at 8:00am. At my wife's suggestion I called Dr. Couture's office. Ellie picked up and instinctively realized the severity of the situation. She relayed the info to Dr. Couture and they told me to come in “now”. So, we drove over and was attended to immediately. Dr. Couture examined me, questioned me, and recommended not only the necessary scripts, but also suggested the next steps for recovery, (stretching, yoga, PT, and massage), recommending who to go to if I needed them. All recommendations have proved to be successful as I have just about fully recovered after about four weeks. With Dr. Couture I have never felt rushed, and always feel listened to, even if I’m not making much sense. She always takes her time to understand completely and genuinely cares about her patients. I highly recommend her for anyone seeking a better primary care physician.

I consistently receive 100% professional and patient centered care by Dr. Couture and her staff. I travel to Dr. Couture from NY for the comprehensive services on one site offered to me including labs.

Loved her but they’re is a woman in her staff that makes appointments who treats the patients terribly therefore I continue see her any longer.

She’s great; she’s “patient”with a good sense of humor and does a great job balancing the TLC with all the health care mandates. You will trust her.
