DOCTOR NOT RECOMMENDED
I was a patient of Dr Lythgoe for 2 years for constant UTI's. I felt he pretty much gave up on me and said there wasn't much more he could do for me and to maybe seek a second opinion. I suggested maybe a Urogynecologist and he said they are just Urologist want to be sarcastically. A few days later I called him with another episode of continuous infection and he sent me to the hospital. He was forthcoming which ones he had privileges at so I purposely went to one of them as he was my admitting physician. I was admitted and treated in the hospital for 3 days in which Dr. Lythgoe never came to see me. I was told it is standard practice for your admitting physician to see you within the first 24 hours. He was called several times about coming from hospital staff and he finally told them he would not come as he couldn't help me and why he sent me there. All my Dr's & nurses thought it was awful too that he wouldn't come despite the present situation he would have been my follow up care.

Removal of bladder stones
I have had a positive experience to date with Dr. Lythgoe. He explained everything in detail before performing the recommended procedures to correct my problem(s). Upon my return office visit following surgery all of my concerns were address fully. At this point I am confident that my problems have been resolved.

Be careful with anything this Doctor tells you. Get a second opinion before allowing him to do a procedure. He gaslighted me into a procedure which failed, then told me nothing could be done to fix it. I needlessly suffered for nearly a year before seeing another Urologist. I trusted him to be forthright and he was the complete opposite. He is untrustworthy. I cannot stress this enough. Meanwhile you will suffer. I highly do not recommend him to anyone. If I could give a zero rating it would still be too high. The fact that he was so disingenuous would cause me to give a rating in negative digits.

I have a complicated medical history including: autonomic dysreflexia, neurogenic bladder, and a history of kidney stones. I started seeing Dr. Lythgoe after my urologists of 20 years retired. I was nervous about having a young doctor, however after seeing him, I was very impressed with Dr. Lythgoe's professionalism, knowledge, and level of concern for my condition. He ordered tests my old doctor never did. He spent time with me, and didn't make me feel rushed. I like him. He's a keeper.
