Dr. Catherine Berzolla, MD

Dreadful practice. I've called 5 times for an appointment, and still nothing. Apparently hospital appointments take precedence over patience. While Dr. Bersolla is an excellent doctor, practice management is sub par.

I saw Dr. Berzolla when I was pregnant with my first child. I was terrified and I was extremely high risk. My experience with WestMed as a whole was a complete nightmare and has caused me emotional distress that I still struggle with. But Dr. Berzolla stood out to me as one of the most rude, uncaring, callous drs. She checked my cervix during a routine visit and was so rough and hurt me so much that I screamed in her office. She sat down in her chair and stared at me like nothing ever happened. At a later date I was taken to the ER because of an emergency with my pregnancy.Dr. Berzolla walked in annoyed, short tempered and angry at me because I was taking her time away from C sections. Her scrubs were bloody. I was scared because this was a difficult pregnancy and I had several high risk factors. I asked her to repeat something and she proceeded to speak to me like a child. Condescending and slow. I wanted to know more about my condition and she matter of factly said, “you’re old.”

Dr. Berzolla is the best! She is incredibly LGBT-friendly and a great OBGYN for young people.

I was referred to Dr. Berzolla once I became pregnant as my previous Dr. was not an OB. I am not one who does well with changes, especially with doctors. Dr. Berzolla made me feel very comfortable. She is causal but professional which for me was great; eased my first time mom brain. My last trimester I was in her office 1-2 times a week. While this practice is certainly a very busy one, they always made the time for me to come in for the monitoring of my baby. The wait was never unreasonable, it is a doctor’s office. Dr. Berzolla always took her time to explain the intricacies of my pregnancy and for that I am forever grateful. I am glad I did not make a decision based off previous reviews.

At 22 weeks I was told that there my baby’s head size was small and that there may be Zika or Down syndrome. Since the legal termination limit is 24 weeks, I was consulting with Dr. Berzolla about my options. She told me and I quote “You are in a real [expletive] situation.” It was perhaps the cruelest thing ever said to me. Who says such a thing to a patient? And guess what? My daughter ended up being fine and nothing is wrong with her or her head. The doctors at West Med are inept and cruel.

Dr. Berzolla is my hero. While I was in labor years ago, she noticed that my partner was abusive, called him out, and referred me to counseling. I will be grateful for the rest of my life for her courage. Despite warning signs, nobody--no doctor, friend, no-one else--stuck their neck out for me in that way, before or after that incident. She is also a doctor who is thorough, kind and truly committed to women's health, and I come from a family of doctors so I'm surely an unusually tough patient

I've been going to this practice for over 6 years now (and through 3 pregnancies) and have seen many of the doctors. Dr. Berzolla is definitely my favorite. I felt very comfortable with her and not at all rushed (like I do with so many other doctors). She took the time answer all of my questions and just to chat a bit, which was really nice considering how personal an ob-gyn visit can be.

I've been a patient of Dr Berzolla's for a few years now and love her. She saw me through my second pregnancy and delivery, and I was so thankful for her knowledge, patience and sense of humor.

I love doctor Berzolla. I have been a patient of hers for 5 years. She saw me through 2 pregnancies and always took time to really find out what's going on. I've recommended her to 3 friends who have all become her patients and we all agree she is the best.

Dr. Berzolla was amazing during a very difficult time. She spent time getting to know us, did not seem rushed and made herself easily available to my husband and I.

Dr Berzolla was very rude. She does not have a good bedside manner. She was rushed and didn't seem to know the answers to many questions. She is inexperienced and arrogant. I would not recommend her or this practice at all. Very bad experience!
