The lack of care
Where do I actually begin. I had an appointment today with Dr. McIntyre and is did not go well at all. Yes I was schedule for an annual exam but we had things to talk about as well. Now this was the first time I have ever seen her. My husband went with me to this appointment because of the important things that needed to be discussed. When she walked into the exam room she asked us how we were doing and tried to explain to her our situation. She out front told us that she wasn't interested in talking with us about our problem and she didn't have a talked schedule she only had time for an exam to be done. We said okay, we did the exam and as she was doing my breast exam she leaned down and told me about a pill. ( this was after we told her we were done with anymore pills being thrown at me). I have endometriosis and PCOS. I have been on some sort of meds for 17.5yrs. Then after the exam she brought and a pack of pills and after I refused to take them she refused to ever see me again.

I have seen Dr. McIntyre for many years. She is a great OB and clearly knows her stuff. However, recent visits and attempts to communicate during a medical situation has left me to realize she is either too busy or understaffed. Her attention to patience care was quite diminished from its usual attentiveness this past visit. I know changes have recently been made to her practice, including location and association within Baptist. Perhaps that is the underlying reason, but the changes were noticeable during this time of needed medical care. I will likely be switching doctors after this medical situation is resolved. She IS a GREAT doctor and extremely competent. If you are in good health and looking for a great doctor for routine visits - highly recommend! If you are high risk or need more frequent visits to OB, you may want to find a practice currently more available to appointment times and individual patient needs.

Dr McIntyre is a caring and involved doctor. I first saw her for a pap smear, and instead she saw that I wasn't well and asked me to tell her what was going on. That lead to tests and a 2nd visit for the results. Those results showed a major health problem, one that needed immediate attention by an Endocrinologist. She called my Primary Care Dr and advised them of test results, her assessment, and gave him the name of a doctor she recommended. If Not For Her visually assessing me, and verbally getting my background, and spending over an hour with me, and then personally calling my PCP, I would be dead. Dr McIntyre saved my life. Literally. Anyone wanting an OB/GYN doctor who truly is on top of her field and cares about each patient individually should be seeing Dr. Catherine McIntyre.

***** PLEASE READ ENTIRE REVIEW ***** Dr McIntyre is a good doctor; however, their practice is now part of Women’s Care Florida. I was referred to Dr McIntyre by my special needs daughter’s PCP about a year ago and we had a good experience until today. This was our first appointment after the ownership change. When we arrived I was told that all patients are now required to sign a Binding Arbitration Agreement. I was caught off guard as I wasn’t informed until I arrived for the appointment (that had been scheduled for several months). I was put on the spot, I told them I wasn’t going to sign it and they told me that they would not be able to see my daughter unless I did. ?? MAJOR RED FLAG ??. I also do not appreciate the tactics used by catching me off guard and callousness that was shown after I said I wouldn’t sign. I now have to put my daughter through the trauma of going to a new doctor (and that is in fact traumatic for special needs kids). Very disappointed!!!

I seriously don't know how the reviews with one and two stars above could be true statements. I met Dr. McIntyre in 1996. She was so compassionate concerning my Endometriosis and tumors and fully capable in her surgical skills to successfully fix my problems in every surgery she preformed! She also had the excellence and skill to assist me and my husband to conceive for the first time in my life after turning 40 years old! Our baby boy was healthy and the most precious event that occurred in our lives! She is a wonderful, caring professional and I would not hesitate to highly recommend her to anyone. If possible I would give her ten stars. Our "baby boy" turns 18 next month!

Dr. McIntyre is socially awkward. She doesn’t relate well to other cultures. She walks into the room doesn’t offer to shake hands ever, Acts impatient when you ask her questions, talks over you. she just seems to say whatever first thought comes to her head without thinking first. I told her about a surgery a nurse I know told me about and she said my “nurse friend” is stupid and doesn’t know what she is talking about. Very weird. Not a doctor who knows how to talk to people that’s for sure.

My water broke and I went immediately to the hospital. Dr. McIntyre was paged and arrived at the hospital shortly after being called. The cord was wrapped around the baby's neck. Dr. McIntyre decided on a C-section because the baby was suffering from hypoxia. Dr. McIntyre is a very capable surgeon and she delivered my son safe and sound without further complication. He will be 16 this April. I never forgot the wonderful service I received in her care.

Ok for prenatal office visits, however, my delivery did not go as planned by Dr. McIntyre who was physician on call. I was supposed to be given medication to enduce labor at 6am, but after having Cervadil for 6 hours overnight, labor began. Dr McIntyre told my nurse not to take out the Cervadil, after I, the patient requested it to be removed. Then Dr. M breezed in as baby was coming out at 5:30am. She clearly didnt want to be at work..So disappointing as a first time/only time mother.
