Overbooks, rude, unfriendly and condescending
We scheduled our toddler’s first appointment with her after switching to Kaiser and we will never schedule another appointment with her again.Despite arriving to our appointment on time and getting checked in and sent to the exam room immediately, we then had to wait an hour and 15 minutes in the exam room for the doctor to see us due to being severely overbooked. When she finally came in, she didn’t acknowledge being late nor apologize about it. When we asked if this wait was normal, she seemed very annoyed, was still unapologetic, and simply said that this was a typical day for her.The rest of the visit wasn’t any better since she seemed in a rush to get through our appointment so that she can get caught up with her overbooked schedule. In addition, many of our questions were quickly dismissed with little to no explanations and the physical check up was very brief and not thorough. Was also unfriendly and a bit rough touching and handling our toddler.

Incompetent Doctor
The doctor is incompetent. She never gave much details about my child's health condition. Never followed up or told us what the next steps would be. If you want an irresponsible doctor, choose this one.

Condescending
Telehealth
She was condescending and treated me like an idiot when I presented her with data that my son had symptoms of ADHD. She said he didn't, but offered him a referral to be tested. All subsequent testing indicated that he has ADHD and he now has an IEP. Terrible bedside manner.

Takes time to be thorough. Very knowledgeable compared with other pediatricians we have had - I feel like I can really trust her opinion and she knows what she’s doing. Calm demeanor, never gets too hyper or excitable or overly friendly or talk in “doctor tone” to parents or kids- which means a lot. I really don’t like that fake sing song voice that some doctors use. Dr. Newton is REAL, down to earth, and probably the single biggest reason I stay as a Kaiser member. Highly recommend!

Dr Newton is fantastic / she’s been the pediatrician for all 4 of our kids. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and very by-the-book in terms of the latest research. She goes out of her way for patients and, because she’s part of Kaiser, she really does a lot to help patients navigate the system even beyond her care when it comes to specialists or the labs or the pharmacy etc… I see there are negative reviews on here for things out of her control like scheduling issues or general complaints about Kaiser, which is totally not a correct picture of Dr Newton. So that’s why I wrote my review, I read reviews a lot and I want to make sure parents know that Dr Newton is great if you want a smart doctor that is very science-based. I know another family that didn’t want vaccines at all and Dr Newton definitely tried to show them the science so if you’re against science she’s maybe the wrong fit. For our family she’s been perfect.

Horrible experience... brought baby in for high fever right after bout of UTI. Instead of checking her for potential UTI recurrence, doc just did some basic checks (throat, ear, chest). Also, due to being unwell, my baby was crying a lot during the check-up. The doc couldn't have glared harder at her. We (I) felt extremely unwelcome, which is vastly different from any other peds visit we've had with other doctors. We will not be seeing her again.

We did not like our only visit with her. Not once did she even interact with our child. Didn't trust her support staff's height measurement of our child so she re-measured him with her finger method . You can tell her support staff is not fond of her. We weren't either. She acted she wanted to be elsewhere. We do not recommend her.

Delayed by an hour. No excuses nor explanations. It looked I had to repeat a couple of times what happened or what we wanted. Standard treatment without looking too much on the detail. That's why it's fair. A book would have told me the same. No need to spend 2 hours to get it, but we have to pay for it.
