Terrible
I have been a patient for 28 years and in the last 5 years I have seen her once she always has a PA see me. I tried to contact her today and was told I was released from the practice because I was a no show when I was just there for a sick appointment and no one told me I had an appointment. She receives all my medical records so she knows that I had open heart surgery last year and I was just diagnosed with kidney cancer.

Unsympathetic Dr for elderly father
Dr Tota-Thurn was my father’s primary until she terminated services with him over a $37 bill! Dad is in a wheelchair & suffers from dementia. I’m his caretaker and when I called requesting VNA services because of his declining condition, I was told because of his unpaid bill- again, only $37, they would not treat him. I offered to pay immediately but was told, no it is office policy. SHAMEFUL! Had to enroll him in Palliative Care, but still need a primary. My family members also have her as a dr and would have thought as a professional courtesy she and the office would have offered a bit of a reprieve due to his quickly declining health. I am beyond disgusted, upset & angry. I will tell EVERYONE about her and her uncaring, impersonal practice.

Dr Tota-Thur, herself, is very kind and knowledgeable. As far as the office and the staff, there’s such a high turn over in that office and practice wide, it’s ridiculous!! She had a medical assistant awhile back with her for a long time, but now it’s a different person every time I go in. I’ve been a patient of hers for about 20 years. The phone system is horrific. Trying to get in to see Dr Tota-Thurn is very difficult. I understand it’s a “teaching office” but I have a pcp for a reason. I don’t like it when the office staff pushes the residents when I want to see MY doctor. In summary, great doctor, terrible office!!

My recent visit was very eye opening! She was rude and showed no compassion. I expressed concerns about my injury and pain level. I explained that due to limitations I'm living on disability. She stated that I never told her. I explained that I have been disabled for several years. She continued to type in my chart that I failed to report my disability. I told her that she has completed multiple handicap parking pass applications with her signature. I also stated that she completed all presurgical examinations. It was at that moment that I realized she hadn't read my chart and that it's time to find another PCP. I thought twenty years would be enough time for a Dr. to know a little something about her patient wouldn't you? Moving on!

Absolutely the best physician I've ever seen! She takes her time with you and thoroughly explains all tests and medical concerns. I've had experience with a large number of incompetent physicians, and it is so nice to have Dr. Tota-Thurn as my doctor. I've been seeing her for approximately 20 years and would not hesitate to recommend her highly!

Awful. The PAs and NPs are good though. She was very nasty, yelled at me, kept interrupting me when I wanted to bring up my heath concerns, and didn't address the main health issue I was there for. I'll be switching my primary care for sure.

My last year of care with Dr. Tota-Thurn has been terrible. I was unnecessarily sent to a specialist by her resident causing a great deal of stress, was inappropriately treated for a condition that landed me in the ER the day after I saw her PA and was dismissed and treated like a child when I tried to talk about alternative care options for a chronic medical condition. When I tried to change practitioners in the practice I was treated like I was the problem. POOR CARE & TERRIBLE SERVICE.

She is compassionate and concerned with you as a whole person. She listens and makes good suggestions and decisions about your health. I find her to be very thorough in reviewing test results and blood work and then explaining them clearly to me. I ask alot of questions and she answers them all completely and patiently. She has been my PCP for several years and I have been very happy with every aspect of her care.
