Support of Sexual Assault Survivor
When push came to shove, Dr. Uchino was not willing to stand up for what her sexual assault survivor patient needed to feel comfortable and safe for a non-surgical procedure. All I wanted was my husband to support me during a hysteroscopic IUD removal with spinal anesthetic but she wasn't willing to go the distance required to make that happen. Highly recommend not going to her or anyone within the Kaiser Permanente system if you have a sexual trauma history. So, I still have an embedded IUD, was retraumatized several times having to fight for a reasonable accommodation, which still got denied. Missed opportunity for Dr. Uchino and Kaiser to do what was right for their patient, but instead chose to eliminate all hope I had in the system. She gets 2 stars instead of 1 because she did at least attempt to get me this accommodation, but when it kept getting denied she chose to side with the big corporate male-dominated "longstanding policy" touting admins and not her patient.
