Dr. Cedric Tankson, MD

I would not recommend him at all. I waited 45 mins... Had 8 am appointment when they open. He came in for five minutes. Said there was nothing he could do. Told me I was doing all the right things then got up and walked out. Never said good bye, have a good day, come back of it gets worse...nothing!! What a waste of time and money??

I went to see Dr. Tankston for an old broken metatarsal in my left foot that was left untreated for 1.5yrs due to poor local orthopedic surgeon. My foot had tried to adjust and compensate for the injury and only made things worse. I also have bunions on both sides of both feet which didn't help. Dr. Tankston explained everything that needed to be done to fix it the with the best possible outcome knowing I'm an athlete. Had to have 2 surgeries instead of one because of the amount of trauma it would cause was too much to do at once. Dr. Tankston himself did my weekly bandage changes to keep a close eye on the progress and adjusted as needed through recovery. I like that he doesn't use one set plan for everyone and treats each situation and care individually. I'm very happy I chose him to do the reconstructive surgery and will definitely be calling him in the future to fix my other bunions. Dr. Tankston is top notch

Dr. Tankston is a warm and rare physician. I am a recent resident in The Villages and have had numerous negative experiences with physicians treating the welderly. I’m 71 and hope to continue playing softball, bowling, golf, and riding my Indian Scout. Dr. Tankston took the time and listened. He was incredibly patient. I canceled the first scheduled surgery. The morning of my surgery to address correction of toes damaged by chemo neuropathy, I asked him to re-evaluate how to proceed. He took the time, heard my concerns and made a decision I could trust would allow me to continue pitching, bowling and riding with the Nomads. He also took a moment to share some personal professional moments concerning his education. I’m a retired teacher and always interested in how “kids” decide on a profession.

Dr Tankson repaired my broken leg...plates, pins, etc. his follow up was excellent and he had me obeying the rules for recovery. Therapy at his facility was excellent. Full use restored..and I was 72 at the time.

Beware! Dr. Tankson destroyed my foot and I would never refer him to anyone.

He might be a good surgeon but is follow-ups need improving. My brother has been in rehab. for six weeks waiting to hear from him once about her progress. He has been given regular feedback from her therapeutic departments and he has not taken five minutes to call and give her discharge orders.

Dr. T surgically repaired, then reconstructed my left ankle. Excellent to work with, great communication - not only with me, but my PCP, as well. went all out for my complete recovery.

He performed carpal tunnel surgery which was successful. However, his office staff is totally unresponsive. They cannot be reached directly by phone, do not answer emails or patient portal requests. I had to drive to his office to get an appointment to have the stitches removed - this should have been scheduled when the surgery was scheduled. A nurse removed the stitches and then he came in to examine it. He spent about 30 seconds with me. There was no mention about the need for physical therapy

Saw the doctor for literally about 3 minutes. I was told the bursitis would heal on its own and he sent me on my way without so much as palpating the affected area, which ended up getting worse instead of better.
