One of the best GPs in Austin
Ron Byrd is an excellent doctor. I have gone to him for years and he's treated everything from upper respiratory infections to torn cartilage with positive results. He's available to his patients and explains diagnoses, treatments, and potential side effects in understandable terms. His annual checkups are thorough. One of the very best general practitioners in Austin.

11/10 You'll be lucky if he is taking new patients
Dr. Byrd goes above and beyond with every single one of his patients. He's been my PCP for nearly ten years now, and I always recommend him to my family and friends to him.. If Dr. Byrd is taking new patients, you would be LUCKY to be one of them. He is well-versed in any and all medical issues and when he isn't 100% about something, he has hundreds of colleagues to consult because his reputation is just that good among other doctors/the Austin community. Dr. Byrd is so rare; he is a one in a million doctor. No matter who you are, Dr. Byrd makes you feel as though you're his top priority—you'll never be rushed during the appt, unless you are in a rush! About 5 years ago I called the front desk and told them that I was 'anxious' and had a medical question. They put me through to a NP right away, and that evening Dr. Byrd followed up, after hours at 8pm! To be clear this was a *minor* issue—but Dr. Byrd just cares that much about all of his patients. If he's taking new patients, CALL!

I wouldnt hesitate recommending Dr. Byrd to friends and family. He has excellent skills, and is very personable.

I've been a patient of Dr. Ron Byrd for a couple of decades. He is very thorough, extremely knowledgeable, easy to talk to, has great common sense and gives excellent referrals when needed. I would not consider having any other doctor for my primary care. Even when I see a specialist, I consult with Dr. Byrd about any potential treatment plan before moving forward. I trust him as a doctor and as a compassionate healthy person.

Staff is horrible. Rude. Unfriendly. No compassion for being ill and the ridiculous wait times. Attitude is shut up and take it. Doctors don’t take the time to speak to you but rather process you like cattle moving through the office. Zero interest in the patient or the issue.

Dr. Byrd is personable, listens to his patients, has a very extensive knowledge of even off-beat conditions and has a great referral base when you need it. He's an excellent physician!
