Dr. Charles Livsey, MD

Dr. Livsey is very knowledgeable out epilepsy and respective medications and medical equipment used for seizure disorders. The problem of reaching Dr. Livsey is that Blue Sky Neurology is over burdened with the small staff handling multiple doctors. They have a high turnover rate of medical assistants and nursing staff. The front desk is difficult to deal with and does not always get messages to the doctor. Blue Sky released 10 of its doctors and replaced them younger, less specialized doctors. I transferred my records to a neurologist whom I had seen at a former location.

I trust Dr. Livsey and would recommend him to my friends and family. I have struggled finding a Neurologist who I felt listened to my needs, rather than just pushing prescription meds that had harmful side effects for years. Livsey is very good at what he does and he listens to his patients. He is a no nonsense kind of doctor. I have been seeing him for 6 years and he had always worked with me and been very responsive whenever we needed to adjust my seizure meds. The front office can be difficult to communicate with, not sure if they are understaffed. But Livsey's Medical Assistant readily gave me her direct line so I usually just call her directly and skip the main office.

I’ve seen Dr. Livsey for several years. He is a competent physician, but I have finally had enough of the either understaffed or incompetent front office. I received a message asking to reschedule my appointment and I called back six separate times. I never once got someone on the phone and I left two voicemails (the other four times I was disconnected or sent to what sounded like a fax line). I never heard back from Blue Sky. When I arrived today I was informed Dr. Livesy was in surgery. I will be finding a new office where patients are not treated like numbers. On the elevator ride down I chatted with two other patients who were also experiencing similar frustrating situations regarding the complete disorganization of this medical group. Save yourself the time and pick a different practice.

I only visited this doctor once and he was not helpful at all. I talked to him about my condition and its impact if I would become pregnant. I asked him multiple times for a referral for an OBGYN that is familiar with seizures. I received no response. I also had trouble getting him to refill my prescription. My pharmacy sent a refill request multiple times and each time they were ignored. I almost ran out of my medication. On top of this, I requested another neurologist and received no response.

Very unprofessional office staff; incorrect billing issues;

Dr. Livsey seems to enjoy surgery more than visiting his patients in clinic. I always feel like he is just putting in his time. His office staff is always rude. They provide false information to delay providing you with a copy of your test results and do not follow-up.

I really like Dr. Livsey, because he hung in there with me until we found the right combination of medication that would stop my seizures. He has been honest about what is going on with me medically.

Dr. Livsy is not a physician I would recommend to anyone who likes to have a say in their own care. I was upfront with him from the getgo about how I'd like to manage my care, and I agreed to do some research about his recommendations. At my follow-up visit, I calmly explained to him that I'd like to consult my primary care physician before making a final decision about the medications he was recommended, and he got so angry that he was shaking. He then told me he wouldn't see me again.

Always takes his time to listen and answer questions. He makes sure to provide the best care possible. I always know he'll do everything he can to help me and I trust his judgment. Wish more doctors would take their time to listen to and care for their patients like Dr. Livsey.

Dr Livsey is great! He's very easy to talk to, takes the time to answer all my questions and explain things thoroughly. Unlike my previous Neurologist, he doesn't use me as a guinea pig trying to test all these different medications, hurry me out the door or refuse to treat me because I don't want to stop taking the medication that has worked better for me than anything else I have taken over the years. I highly recommend Dr Livesy!
