Perfect doc for me.
I'm a mid-60's guy and appreciate having a PCP who's close to my age that understands age-related issues. He listens...probably the most important trait for doctors. He's knowledgeable, and gives good advice for things that matter to me, ex. getting better prescription prices. Two years of taking BP medication, that didn't get it right.... he changed it on the first visit to something that works for me. His demeanor is calm, pleasant, straight-forward, and to the point.

He is a good listener and answers questions fully. He is conservative. I wish he would do referral sooner instead of treating my issue. He may seem cold but if you prod him he has a very good personality. He comes from a fine family of doctors. He has been my PCP for over 25 years treating my BP and triglycerides issues. I would highly recommend him.

Cares About His Patients
Dr. Teter has been my primary care physician for many years now and he has always been knowledgeable about my health conditions and been able to get me well. This visit was a scheduled wellness check and review of my medications and routine lab work. Dr. Teter is soft-spoken and a good listener. He answers my questions in a thoughtful manner and when I’ve needed a specialist or surgeon, his referrals have been to equally qualified physicians. He gets lab results back to me quickly. In fact, same day this time with his comments and recommendations. Dr. Teter is an outstanding doctor who truly cares for my well-being.

One visit with Teter and KNEW I would be my last. Acted as if I woke him from his morning nap! More or less says my concerns with my repeated low blood pressure was a joke to him. Was NOT impressed with his incompetence or don't care attitude. Was required to see NP before Teter. OMG incompetence even the med student acknowledged as I try discuss prior cancer diagnosis but NP made known it was NOT up for discussion. Not sure what business these people are into but practicing medicine appeared to NOT be it when my Drs and NP refuse to discuss my cancers. And students most likley second guessing medicine as her goal with teachers like these. Because ONLY one I was impressed with was the medical student who thought too was a little peculiar my cancers was not to be discussed.

This guy is arrogant and lazy. He totally misdiagnosed my condition and would not order appropriate tests. He did order one simple test, at my request on a follow-up visit, but still has not told me what the lab results showed He lowered my BP medicine dosage by 1/2 based on ONE faulty BP reading. I told him I had to take more than prescribed to maintain BP; he said that was okay. When I needed a refill sooner than prescribed, he refused to write a new prescription! A rude staff member called and told me this. She then proceeded to chastise me because of the way my pharmacy fills meds. (They sometimes dispense Rx maintenance meds for 90 days). She said he only writes prescriptions for 30 days. Apparently this office is unaware of a new law in OK that allows a pharmacy to do exactly what my pharmacy is doing! Any physician who would deny prescribing high BP meds (I needed 6 pills that weekend) before returning to their office needs to lose their medical license.

Dr. Teter was my father's doctor. He was having breathing problems and called to get seen, the doctor didn't call him back for 2 days, and when he called to check on his call back status, the receptionist was unhelpful, rude, and told him he had to call earlier, even though he had. Then, after my dad passed away, he didn't sign the death certificate for over a month because he didn't know how the system worked and then proceeded to yell at the funeral home employee who was attempting to assist him. When I called to speak with him about the status of the death certificate, he never called back. He ignored my dad's problems and then ignored his death certificate and then ignored me.

I would give 0 stars if I could. My mother came to Dr. Teter's office in March with complaints about pain in her stomach. He gave her an antacid without doing any blood work or ultrasounds. Three months later while she was in Oregon, she checked in to Urgent Care because the pain was so bad. They did an ultrasound and found a tumor in her pancreas. She has advanced pancreatic cancer that has spread to other organs. She wants to do treatment in her hometown so the doctors in OR tried calling Teter's office on Friday to set up a referral for an urgent stent operation to open up the passageway to her liver. Dr. Teter was at lunch and did not answer and never called back. The office in Oregon faxed the results of her CT scans and blood work to Dr. Teter and we were assured that we could set up an urgent operation on Monday morning as soon as possible. On Monday morning we called Dr. Teter's office as soon as they opened and he was already out for the day and hadn't looked at her records.
