Dr. Charles Raker, MD

Dr. Charles Raker did a procedure while I was an inpatient on the oncology ward. He came in and asked if I had any questioned and proceeded to prepare for the procedure. He was very professional and polite. I would recommend him. I have no issue with him. That was 2023 fast forward trying to schedule an appointment with him is challenging. I found that it is apart of the insurance system and no reflection on the physician. I am thankful. It is time to remove the device and it has been a challenge getting the prerequistes completed. The following happened in Long Beach CA in November 2020. My husband has been waiting to have surgery for months. His surgeon said that before operating, my husband needed a biopsy of a suspicious lesion on a vertebra. Is it cancer? We waited anxiously for the biopsy to be scheduled. We kept calling for a date. It seems that Dr. Raker didn't bother to review my husband's file for about 10 days. The file sat on his desk until we contacted a supervisor and she asked him to review it. It took him 15 minutes to decide that the biopsy would not be safe. So, we anxiously waited for nothing. Our phone calls and worry meant nothing. The surgeon recommended that we go elsewhere to have the biopsy. He believes that it can be done safely.
