I went to Dr. Scruggs for implants on one side. Horrible experience! I had to have them removed in 21 days. I was on antibiotics and anti fungal meds, he told me as a preventative. While he was working on me he scraped my lip with a dental tool or suture needle. Several years later, I am getting an implant from a different oral surgeon. Multiple attempts to get my records forwarded to my new dentist. We could never get a straight answer as to why they were removed. They also would not send my records!! Do not use him!

Very unprofessional and kept me waiting for over an hour. Came in the room and found out I was only needing an extraction and was disappointed I didnt want more done. As I was talking with him he grapped my nose as to get me to stop talking. Worst dentist visit ever and when I spoke with the front office about it they could careless. However, my insurance company wasnt pleased and now he isnt recommended with them. Avoid at all cost!

I have never been to a more disorganized dental practice in my life. My appt. with Dr. Scruggs, in his Galveston office, was 2/6/20 at 2 pm for wisdom tooth extraction. I arrived at 1:40 pm and signed in. I waited until 2:45 to be called. A tech. took my BP and said Dr. Scruggs would be in shortly. I waited in this room 1 hr. 15 min. During this time I had to sign 2 more forms, one because they had typed the wrong molar to be extracted and I had to initial the correction. Dr. Scruggs came in around 3:30, put his gloved finger in my mouth and roughly felt all my teeth. He made a comment about my molars and left. I was taken to the room where the extraction would take place at 4 pm. Tech. asked if I had a ride home. I told her I had informed the front desk when I made the appt. that I wanted local anesthesia. Apparently that was left off the forms too. At 4:40 pm, I walked to the front desk, gave the girl my name, told her I wanted all my paperwork shredded and I left.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I WOULD! Let me begin -- Dr. Scruggs is one of the friendliest guys you will ever meet. I was afraid to have my wisdom teeth taken out for a long, long time. Dr. Scruggs and the office RN Sally made me feel completely comfortable about the procedure and what to expect. It seems like the surgery was done within seconds. My sutures where my 4 wisdom teeth were extracted healed beautifully as they have a great post-op regimen to follow! Thank you so much!

Dr. Scruggs and his staff were kind and courteous. I am poor and uninsured, yet they treated me with respect, and gave me a very fair price on a desperately needed extraction. Dr. Scruggs even called me personally later that day to make sure I was recovering well. I hope to continue to be a patient of Dr. Scruggs.
