Dr. Smoot was very thorough, he was very caring. Took his time with me , not once did he talk down to me. I felt very comfortable with him, this plays a huge part with me returning for care

My PCP referred me to GI for a colonoscopy due to a positive FIT. Appointment scheduler called and I stated that I would need to defer until after an up-coming spinal procedure, would not be able to tolerate diagnostics at this time. Later, I receive a call from a very berating person identifying as “Dr. Smoot and that I needed to comply with my PCP’s request.” Explained that I could not talk at the moment, could I please call back when I’m in a private place or could he call me back, later? This person (trained/proctored medical physician?) ignored my multiple requests for privacy and continued to loudly demand that I continue with his advice. Not a very pleasant experience. I will be contacting Peer Review Committee regarding this incident and filing a complaint.

Appointment was to go over current medication and for him to look at my stomach. He stated he didn’t have time to look at my stomach and walked out of the room while I was in Mid-sentence. He left me in the room said nurse would be in. Waiting 12 min no one came in, so I went to see what the issue was. All lights were off they were just about to leave as it was Friday. No paperwork given etc. he was very aggressive with me and was not at all concerned. To him I was a new patient, in the room he didn’t even have my records up he had no idea regarding my other doctor. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy.
