Dr. Chase Sovell, MD

Outstanding Physician. He is a rare combination of Professional/knowledgeable and personable/compassionate. I find the negative reviews hard to understand as he helped me immensely and sped up the process to insure completion before some travel I could not avoid.

Had a very satisfactory first visit with Dr. Sovell. He answered all of my and my partner’s questions, explained the implications of the test results and made appropriate recommendations based on all of the relevant circumstances in my case. I could not have been more pleased.

I cannot recommend Dr. Sovell highly enough. I see negative reviews here yet Allina's page has super high ones and his background includes Chief of Staff at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, ranked the top metro Hospital by US News and World Report. He also serves on the Board of Directors at Minnesota Urology and on the Abbott Northwestern Hospital Foundation Board. To broaden his knowledge, Dr Sovell completed the Physician Leadership College at the University of St Thomas. He has pioneered in his field. I experienced an approachable Dr well versed in my wife's issues who was personable, humorous and humane. His thoroughness and flexibility were impressive

Dr. Sovell did an excellent job of diagnosing my condition, providing me with accurate information and advice, but most importantly he and his team performed a successful surgical procedure. Everything he told me to expect, in fact happened. I was greatly impressed by his competence and professionalism. I would recommend him to anyone.

We could not be happier with our experience with Dr. Sovell. My wife was diagnosed with kidney cancer and we were referred to Dr. Sovell by our oncologist. He was very patient with us and explained everything to us as well as letting us know what our options were. He removed her kidney and so far things have been going very well.

Dr. Sovell attributed my rising psa over the past 8-10 years as a result of an enlarged prostate. I switched to MHealth, Dr. Warlick this past year and found I had metastasized cancer( Gleason 9). I feel Dr Sovell was not thorough nor aggressive enough in his evaluations and failed to have a biopsy or MRI done when my psa was over 20. I was always uncomfortable with Dr. Sovell's demeanor (glib and somewhat dismissive) and should have changed urologist years ago.

Robotic kidney surgery! He is fabulous! He took out my cancerous cyst and my recovery time was very short. I had the traditional cyst on my right kidney and the robotic on my left. There was no comparison! Go with Dr. Sovell and the robotic cyst removal!!!!!!!!! He is great.

I had a prostate biopsy with Dr Sovell and any pre-procedural anxiety was for naught. I also want to recognize the nurse that worked along with him - Sara(h?). They were both fantastic. They made me feel as comfortable as possible and seemed to genuinely care about my experience. They were the epitome of professionalism.

Absolutely terrible. Would not recommend this physician to anybody. Unresponsive and irresponsible. Go anywhere but here, unless you want to be disappointed.

We drove 6 hours after waiting 3 months for answers only to get no answers at all! We came in and Dr. Sovell had not even made him self familiar with my brothers' case. He said he would meet with the Radiologist at Abbott on Wed or Thurs and call us asap. We have still not heard a word from this Dr. I am sick over this. I do not think he is doing a good job maybe he has too many patients????
