After multiple visits to this clinic, I no longer believe it is worth returning to. The billing department is extremely disorganized. During my initial visit in 2022, they incorrectly billed me as an out-of-network service for Blue Cross Blue Shield. It took several days of contacting both the clinic and BCBS to resolve the issue. Surprisingly, I was charged more at this clinic than at the ER doctors at Signature Care for the same service, including the blood draw. Additionally, the annual wellness visit, which should be free, is treated as a regular physician's visit. The appointments consistently started late, sometimes by 20 minutes, and in the worst-case scenario, I had to wait for hours. Furthermore, for the blood draw, they used an out-of-network lab for BCBS users (resulting in additional charges). I understand that everyone wants to make money, but at the very least, the clinic should provide satisfactory service.

I have been a patient of Texas Center of lifestyle Medicine since its opening and a patient of Dr. Cheng Huai Ruan FOR YEARS! I have had amazing experiences with Michelle Rodriguez PA., Monique Burkes, Ceasar who has been a MA and with Dr. Ruan for years and specializes with VETRAN’S AND PTSD RECOVERY. AMY Bryant NP who specializes in Cancer recovery, Lisa Wilkerson who specializes in Natural HRT, not to mention the amazing office staff and assistants like Nila, Eric and Iralosa. I have worked with Jessica Reisling one of the personal coaches and TOGETHER THEY HAVE ALL BEEN AMAZING! I have been a personal patient of Dr Cheng Ruan’s for MANY YEARS. I followed him into his new practice. Dr. Cheng Ruan Believes in the “Wholistic and PREVENTION APPROACH.” I watched him grow dissatisfied with traditional medicine and acceptance of diseases as patients aged. I participated in his “WALK WITH A DOC” program on the first Saturday’s of the month for years. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This clinic is run only by Nurse Practitioners (NP) with very little notice of the patient by the doctor, even a new patient. They like to sell you supplements, do expensive lab work, never answer your questions on the patient portal (which is their only means of communication) never post your progress notes on your patient portal so you know what they think happened during your chaotic 5-10 min appointment, never call you regarding lab results, you wait over an hour after your appointment time just to see one of the Nurse Practitioners. Supposedly uses Eastern and Western medicine to treat you, but does very little (NP) during your visit and your next visit is not until SIX weeks. This was my first and only visit. This doctor is way over his head with my GI problems.

Would give zero stars if possible. Very deceptive practice with lots of pseudoscience and conflicts of interest in peddling alternative, unproven products from which he has significant financial gain. Also had issues with phantom billing even though my provider is in network.

Dr. Ruan and his staff were extremely patient and very thorough. They addressed all of my health concerns and were eager to find the underlying issues, not just treating the symptoms. I would highly recommend their services.

Working with Dr. Ruan has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I love working with someone who doesn't make me sit in the waiting room for 2 hours to only rush me out of his office in 15 minutes. Dr. Ruan and his team discuss your symptoms briefly... take the necessary steps to diagnose... and then work with you to construct a healing blueprint. Empowered and hopeful are two words that would best describe how I feel every time I leave his office.

The doctor I've been searching for!! His approach to wellness is unlike any other doctor I've come across, especially in this medicine-rich city of Houston. To say Dr. Ruan is great is a HUGE understatement! He has completely changed my view and habits in regards to my personal wellness. Being young I didn't think I had any issues, but nowadays with the amount of toxins we are susceptible to it's absolutely necessary for someone like Dr. Ruan to shed light on the unknown. I HIGHLY Recommend D

Avoid. Deceptive business practices. Would give him zero stars if possible. You schedule an appointment with him but when you get to his office discover you are really scheduled with one of his Registered Nurses. I complained but didn't get to meet him first visit. At the end of follow up visit I had to beg the nurse to let me meet him. Nurse went came back with him and he gave me 5 minutes. Not impressed.

This place is amazing! This is the first time I have been to a doctors office that spent more than 10 minutes with me just collecting frivolous details and then prescribe pills. Dr. Ruan and his staff want to know where the root of the problem stems from instead of just covering up with a pill. I am ready to stop feeling tired all of the time. When other doctors tell me my labs are fine and dismiss me Dr Ruan’s office dug deeper and found the root of the problem. Thank you NP Michelle & Dr Ruan

Don't go here. The name for his company in network is Yexas Center for Lifestyle Medicine but he nills out of network as Ruan Medical Group so they can get more money from the patient and not the negotiated rate from the insurance company. Terrible experience!!!!! They will not refill under the in network name.
