Dr. Chengwei Wang, MD

Dr. Wang was unprofessional, did not listen and did not properly address my concerns. I was seeing her for the first time to establish care, I had a list of concerns, the biggest one is a lump I have in my armpit. I have a deep family history of breast cancer, I'm 43 AND this is not my first lump. She would have known that if she bothered to take any family history. When I told her that it was time for my annual mammogram and that I have this lump. Her response was 'You're not 45 yet, you don't need a mammogram.' I was SHOCKED by this statement! Never have I ever heard the age 45 quoted as when you should start regular screenings, especially if you have a family history. I had to talk her into giving me a referral to get the screening. There were some other concerns and every time I brought one up she interrupted with a personal story about herself, then offered no help and refused simple referrals. She also didn't bother to examine me at all! This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Dr. Wang is a very serious and responsible doctor. The first time I met Dr. Wang, she actually spent nearly an hour and a half reviewing my medical records from over the past twenty years at Kaiser Permanente and patiently listening to my narrative. She discovered that many necessary tests had been overlooked by Kaiser Permanente. After various examinations, it was found that I have a liver abscess issue.
