Dr. Chenwi Ambe, MD

I would not even rate him 1 star. Underwent a surgical procedure based on his incorrect diagnosis. Condition did not improve and worsened 30 days post op. Was advised by Dr. Ambe that I needed the same surgery again but a wider area removed. Sought second opinion on my own and underwent proper medical workup for a much different condition and diagnosis. Underwent correct surgery with a much more competent MD and on the road to recovery.

Dr. Ambe saved my life. He is professional, through, thoughtful and explained things well. I went straight from the ER into an OR room. A week later I required an additional surgery and he was just as great as the first time. He demanded excellence from my nurses, made sure my pain was managed and made me a private patient for follow ups, instead of me seeing the rotating acute care surgeons. The only thing I will not accuse him of is having gentle hands at times. Although, when he is involved in the situation that’s usually the least of a persons concerns.

They way he removed a fatty growth from my shoulder was completely ridiculous and the most invasive way possible. He easily could have aspirated it from my shoulder but instead he cut a 2.5" opening and then literally squeezed the Daylights out of my shoulder. It was so physical that he was basically draped across my torso squeezing with all his might while me legs were literally raised off the gurney stretched out completely stiff. Whoa.but that's not the worst of it. I informed him prior to surgery that my job is very physical and I lift a 50 pound backpack onto my back several times a day. He said you'll be fine to work tomorrow so no work excuse is needed. This wound was so painful and I was completely bruised around the area from his efforts. I could not begin to put that backpack on for a week. To top it off he didn't get it all so I assume he'd recommend 2nd attempt. They did not bill my insurance and lied about it. He canceled my follow up and then tried to collect from me.

Dr Ambe is an amazing Doctor. I was recommended by a co-worker from Visalia. Answered all of my questions and has a very pleasant personality. He is all about what is safe for the patient. His team is first class and very thorough. I left the surgery thanking everyone. I truly am grateful of him. I recommend him....you are definitely in good hands.

Dr. Ambe was my surgeon for a very complicated and dangerous surgery. He earned my respect and trust early on, did not disappoint. Not only was the surgery completely successful but I had essentially no pain or difficulty post surgery or during the entire recuperation process. I would recommend him for anybody.

Dr. Ambe brings back bedside manner. He's kind, understanding and explains well. He did what was best for me, not what would make him $$$.

Dr Ambe is an amazing doctor/surgeon! I highly recommend him!
