Dr. Cheryl Duffy, MD

I have been a patient with Dr Duffy since I was a baby she has all of my records on file no other Doctor does. When I called to schedule a appointment the staff basically snubbed me saying I was “too old for Dr Duffy” and I told the receptionist that I was having a problem with my eye and my eye doctor called and referred me to be seen. I called back the same day after the eye doctor called and I was asked to be put on a hold and a supervisor picked up the phone since I was put on hold. The Supervisor was extremely rude to me. She picked up the phone and said “can I help you” in a snotty tone. I explained my situation and explained what the receptionist told me. She said “she's right you are WAY too old to be seen in our office. I am not overriding anything for you. You are going to have to go to urgent care or another Doctor we can not accept you anymore since you do not have insurance anymore either.” My insurance was through my mom who passed away. The Superior hung up on me after.

I’m absolutely appalled and disappointed and disgusted with this office. No parent should have to jump through hoops to get their SICK child an appointment. Clearly they are understaffed but they also show no compassion or care of the well-being of their patients. Instead I was told to go to Urgent Care. Urgent care recommended I follow up with the pediatrician, so when I called to schedule a follow up they still REFUSED to schedule my son an appointment. Answering the phone with an attitude of “what’s going on” or “what’s the issue” when it’s the third time I have called because all I want is for my son to be seen by HIS DOCTOR. It really should NOT be that difficult. I called when they opened. Was told to call back at 8:30. Was told “that’s what we’re telling all the parents.” So I call back then... “No appointments are available.” So why didn’t you tell me that at 8 or schedule me one for another day or time!!?!? INSTEAD I have been giving the run around. All while my son has a fever and is crying in pain and I’m left helpless because his own DOCTORS office doesn’t want to help! Parents STAY clear. The rumors are true- this place has gone WAY down hill. Any positive things said about this office were from YEARS ago. They. Are. Terrible. And literally no help. Does my child need to be dying to be seen? probably still will be denied an appointment then too.

Dr. Duffy is a good doctor. She has a likable personality and is kind and gentle to my son with special needs. The nursing staff is a completely different story. They seem to have ego issues or something, the head nurse in particular. She has canceled my son's needed daily prescription without warning. She has refused to have the doctor sign off on medical supplies. She is unprofessional, condescending and rude. She says things are "policy" when other staff have said the opposite. I will be looking for a different doctor, not because of the doctor, but because of this nurse who I have the displeasure of dealing with.

Love Dr. Duffy and Dr. "Sam" !! They are never rushed to get done with the appointment. They answer all your questions and concerns.

“Your child is not our responsibility”. That is the response I got from their office management when They refused to schedule an appointment for my 18month old son. We asked if Dr Duffy would personally respond to our concern...... no response. The office staff is exceptionally rude and careless!!!! Dr Duffy’s webpage bio says she is chief of pediatrics at Sharon regional. We spoke with Sharon regional and they confirmed she does not work there. We also spoke with UPMC who denies any affiliation
