Brilliant, Poor Communication
Still seeing her annually. Would not answer direct questions (e.g., What stage?) and was difficult when I asked for referral to a clinic 10 min from my home instead of 45 min daily for 35 radiation treatments. Sitting on my cancer was extremely painful at the time, and i finally had to say i would NOT get Tx if i had to drive so far. After local treatment with a gentle and caring oncologist, I returned for a check. Dr. S let a marvelous Fellow examine me, but came in to ask 'How long did it take before the pain went away?' in a snide tone. Mira, her nurse had to talk to me several times during pretreatment visits to get me to stay with Dr. S. I trust her with my Healthcare, but not my heart care during cancer treatments.I lived in the world of Acadaemia for several decades. I get that many brilliant doctors come across as autistic due to poor social skills. I recommend Dr. S, but advise you to not take her manner to heart, seek a second opinion if you need answers, and Stan

Condesending, unprofessional, lazy...
It's unfortunate when someone is diagnosed with ovarian cancer. What is worse is having to put your trust in someone who doesn't care for you or your condition. We saw Dr Saenze from 2023 to 2024 when my wife had Ovarian cancer. At every interaction, she came in with what felt like a script she had memorized, often times not relating to the test results we would receive. When asked specific questions, she would not answer but simply go back to a script of what she wanted to communicate. For example, Me: 'Have the tumors grown since our last visit' Her: 'Given the CA 125 levels you are most likely going to need more treatment.' This was not our experience alone. Researching Chemotherapy she had suggested, we came across its informal name of the Gmzr 'Red Devil' bc it burns. She said that wasn't true and when we received it, it had to be stopped bc it hurt so bad. The staff at the infusion center said this was routine for her. STAY AWAY. We are getting great care elsewhere.

We saw Dr. Saenz only once and it was a tough visit. She was very stiff and even condescending. She did not want to answer questions. When my mother asked about treatment or next steps, Dr. Saenz said, ma'am you have widespread disease which was shocking and first my mother had heard this. She gave us tests to do and said, make an appointment to see me once you have these done. She gave us no idea about what was to come. She never followed up with a call and didn't answer my MyChart messages. Everything was relayed through her staff. I had initially asked to see another doc, but he was out of town and Dr. SAENZ had earliest availability. I see why she may not be in great demand. We ended up on hospice so never saw her again.

Dr. Saenz is an amazing doctor and took great care of me. Very friendly and attentive! At the time my left ovary had become an enormous tumor. Dr. Saenz reassured me that she would help me and everything would be fine. My surgery went smoothly and I healed quickly. Highly recommended! Don’t listen to these other reviews.

Dr. Saenz is an incredible doctor. She is smart, caring, and has a lot of integrity. I will be forever grateful to her for caring for me while I had cervical cancer. I am stunned by the negative reviews and would view them w/ skepticism.

Cheryl Saenz has no business caring for women w/ cancer. I was forced to go to her ( California Health and Wellness. I came to her with a ovarian tumor. By the cancer scale my numbers were low and she did not believe I had cancer. I was in a great deal of pain and she told me that I would not have pain if I had cancer. She thought I was in there to get pain pills, like I was some junkie. Anyway the tumor inside me was 100% cancerous. Warning this women is dangerous and cares not for you.

Dr. Saenz is very confident in her opinions. Large ego and biased thinking. She may treat women with cancer, but seriously wonder how many survive. Would never recommend her to anyone.

I recently had a health scare-a very large mass was found in my pelvis. Dr. Saenz guided me through the diagnostic process with great attention, expertise and compassion. I would not hesitate to send any friends or family members to her.
