Unfortunately I am on day 7 of Covid, day 4 of not keeping anything down. I have several medical issues and cannot be without my medication that long. I was the only patient in the waiting room. I ended up walking out after my first interaction with Dr.Patel because what I needed was help and someone to care, she questioned why I was there told me “yeah well a lot of people have Covid”. I hope she chooses kindness instead of ignorance next time. The next hospital immediately gave me fluids. Please don’t go to Penn Medicine ER unless you HAVE to.

CAUTION! Presented to ER for severe back pain and urinary frequency (I have a history of lumbar disc issues). No Dr ever examined me. Was sent for a CT scan. Dr. Patel appeared in the doorway only prior to discharge to tell me I have a UTI and was being prescribed certain medication. I asked what the CT showed and was told "multiple" kidney stones. When I asked 3 or 20? She said "They didn't say, only multiple." No referral for follow-up with urologist or any other follow-up recommended. When I asked about my back, I was told I may have strained it. I followed up with my primary only to find out that a CT of my spine was also done and showed a disc bulge at L5-S1 vertebrae that SHE NEVER MENTIONED! The primary also indicated the 2 kidney stones were the same 2 high in kidney that were on a prior scan 2 yrs ago and not the cause of my pain. I will NEVER go back to that ER again. Very disappointed that a Dr would withhold test results. Report filed with Compliance Dept.

Dr Patel, What an amazing specialist. No one has been able to help my daughter with her concerns but Dr Patel made her feel comfortable and helped her with her hives. Everything is great and we felt so welcomed by her. No one has ever spent this amount of time with us.

Just had to return to ER for flare up of pancreatitis. Was released from observation unit earlier in the day. Nurse was outstanding and helpful; however Dr. Patel has the bedside manner of a brick. Discharged me without diagnosis, or discussion and told me to follow up with my GI Doctor. After I explained my concerns on why I returned to Capital Health, she told me she had other patients to see and that there was nothing they could do for me. I would not recommend her to anyone.

I would leave 0 star if possible. Very rude bedside manner, and bad attitude towards patients. You can clearly tell she doesn't want to be there and see ER patients, then why work as an ER Dr. at all?! She didn't even bother to come up with a diagnose, just told the patient I don't know, follow up with your primary Dr... Really don't think she should be practicing medicine at the hospital ER or practicing at all

Dr. Chhaya Patel was rude and incompetent. I just started a new job and my insurance was not yet active so at the time of my ER visit I was uninsured. Walking into a Trenton ER as an African American I was profiled and judged immediately. She dismissed my concerns and proceeded to provide me with false information. This woman should not be practicing medicine. She had terrible bedside manner and was clearly racist. There were several unethical issues and I will be seeking legal advice.
