Dr. Fordyce told me never to tell anyone about my diagnosis of chronic illness because, she informed me, "Nobody loves a whiner." Her diagnostic work was shallow; her understanding of the condition was dated and incorrect; her treatment had no evidentiary backing and, unsurprisingly, no success. In my experience, she was baldly incompetent in every domain both practical and ethical. She wasn't just bad — she was a blot on her profession. It's regrettable that she continues to practice.
