Find a Doctor who Cares
Prior to a biopsy, Dr. Anderson told me the procedure would take ten minutes and I could go back to work when it was done. I was in significant pain after the procedure and the doctor's response was 'the pain will pass'. I got the results of the biopsy on my portal one or two days later showing a positive finding of cancer. I called the doctor's office three times to try to get an explanation of the severity of the diagnosis and I didn't get a return call until 5 days later (after a weekend). When Dr. Anderson finally called he said he had been out of the office although his assistant told me the last time I called that he was in the office doing procedures. It's bad enough finding out you have cancer-it's worse to have your doctor not answer your calls to explain the severity of the situation.

I am a 55 y/o with a family history of prostate cancer (my dad died in his 60s). I saw several oncologic urologists when I found out my PSA was trending up from less than 2 to greater than 3 in a year. Even though my PSA was less than 4, I had a biopsy and had cancer (gleason 7). Dr Anderson is amazingly caring and knowledgeable. He spends time to fully explain the situation, and with prostate cancer it is confusing. The staff is nice and the office is efficient. Unfortunately prostate cancer is common, but when one of my friends needs a urologist for this problem, I'm recommending Dr Anderson.

Dr. Anderson performed a prostate biopsy and I've been interacting with him following a prostate cancer diagnosis. He is a skilled surgeon and I had no problems/complications/pain following the biopsy. My case is unusual in that I'm 40, and Dr. Anderson has been thorough in suggesting treatment options. Moreover, he seems like a caring person. He is responsive (has called me within a few minutes of me contacting him) and takes time in answering my questions. My experience in dealing with Dr. Anderson has been very positive.
