Wonderful doctor!
Dr. Chihlas was wonderful when treating my son for a foot injury. He was knowledgeable, took time to answer my questions and was very personable. Highly recommend!

Upfront honesty
I really enjoyed my experience with Dr Chihlas in spite of my broken ankle. He was upfront with me about what I would experience over the next 6 months. He didn’t paint a rosy picture nor doom and gloom. I also had some nice short talks about his personal life so I got to know him as a person as well. I have now had 2 surgeries with ORI and my experience there has been great in both incidents.

Very professional and did a great job.
I had fraying, inflammation, and pain in the tendons of the shoulders. I had been doing PT for 6 months but the pain was lingering. After receiving the PRP injections the pain improved tremendously and quickly. I began to regain my strength. Dr. Chihlas and his team over at Orthopedic RI were very professional and did a great job.

Dr Chihlas is arrogant, pompous & condescending. I'm a 46 yr old Veteran & Firefighter who he scolded like a child for asking for documentation that my Department Chief was requesting of me. Demanded that I "stop harrassing his staff" because I called his office twice for a letter stating I'd be unable to work certain upcoming shifts. When I tried to explain why I called his office requesting what I did he literally raised his right hand in the air to motion that I stop talking & refused to let me speak. I've never in my life been treated this way by someone who's supposed to be a medical professional. If you experience the same mistreatment contact Southcoast Director Sharon Smith as I did.

Worst Doctor eve. Said I didn’t need surgery and could go back to work. I ended up rupturing my Achilles tendentious and needing extensive surgery. What a joke. Rude ignorant and wouldn’t let him care for my dog.

He did absolutely nothing to assist me. Once he saw I was overweight, he blew me off and told me find another doctor. I was writhing in pain and my tendon has gotten worse every day since. I can not walk at all now. He does not assist all of his patients...just who he picks and chooses.

I saw Dr Chihlas for a very brief evaluation for my fractured ankle. The Dr. spent less than 5 minutes talking to me, had his assistant provide me with an ankle brace then charged me over 1,000 for the appointment, $837 of it was for "the setting of a fractured ankle, without manipulation." I contacted billing, who insisted the charge was accurate, I was floored. So all prospective patients, please beware, care and treatment provided vs the cost is hugely disproportionate.

Beware of additional fees. This office adds a $250 new patient charge to your bill. No notification, no awareness. The explanation when I called billing was that it was because I had never been to this doctor before. Considering I was referred to this office by my primary care physician in the Southcoast system and have been in the Southcoast system for many years, well, back to buyer beware.

I didnt have a good experience with Dr. Chihlas when I saw him this October for ankle injury . I felt rushed like he had to many patients. When we talked on the phone about my MRI he also made it seem rushed like my medical welfare wasnt important enough. I am an athlete sorry I wasnt a high paid one. I had a great experience with a second orthopedic and im on the road to recovery.

Horrible experience! Visit with Dr. Chihlas went well I thought. When he called with review of my MRI it was like talking to another person. DR.Jeckyl ,Mr Hyde he was rude and condescending. He acted like his time was more important than mine. The staff was very nice and waiting wasnt bad. Too bad this experience went awful. I will see another specialist. Go with your gut people. Be your own Advocate They may act like God, but they're NOT!

Horrible experience. Dr Chihlas did not listen to me and my complaints of pain. My MRI showed I had a tear and he told me my MRI was normal. Saw a specialist which agreed with tear, just had surgery with pictures and video of huge tear. He does not listen to his patients. Would never recommend this physician.

Awesome Doctor. Jones fracture of the fifth metatarsal. He was the 3rd Doctor/opinion I saw and recommended surgery, which was booked for less than a week later. Without it, I likely would've been NWB on crutches for several months. 6 weeks post op and I'm almost 100% back to normal. Thanks dr Chihlas!!
