Dr Houts is such a caring, knowledgeable doctor. He took the time to answer all my questions, made my son feel comfortable and helped us understand age appropriate topics. He’s such an excellent doctor who is easy to talk to. His quality of care is definitely a 10!!

Dr. Houts is truly a “one of a kind” pediatrician. With both of our children, he has been incredibly attentive and caring. He goes the extra mile to ensure that I feel comfortable and that all of my (many) questions are always answered. Dr Houts did a fantastic job making us and our newborn comfortable. Explained things clearly with limited wait time to be seen, and got back to us within set timeframes. Scheduling was easy as well.

Our daughter has been a patient at Powell Pediatrics for four years. We have never had a single negative experience there. Dr. Osthaus is our daughter's primary physician, but at this point, we have seen each of the physicians in the practice due to visits when our daughter has been ill. They have all been thorough, knowledgeable and caring. Lindsay, the Synagis Nurse, is so organized and kind. We worked with her for two years in a row in order to obtain Synagis shots for our daughter, and we never encou texted a single problem. When we need appointments, we are always able to get in right away. The office staff has been kibd and helpful. We recently had occassion to work with Dr. Houts. I was so impressed with the time he took to explain everything to us. He was so thorough and thoughtful in his approach to treating our daughter. We were also very impressed with the precautionary measures the office has quickly put into place in order to keep everyone safe during this pandemic.

Dr. Houts has consistently shown himself as thorough and caring. He shows up and quickly diagnoses the situation and gives me the information I need to take care of my kids. My kids have never progressed into complications, and Dr. Houts gives us specific instructions on what to watch for. He's never made us feel like we're crazy for calling in and the nurses there are very helpful. I trust Dr. Houts because he has earned it with accurate recommendations and helping us through crazy moments.

Dr. Houts is by far the best! He goes above and beyond to help our children, and answers questions about any concerns we have.

We've been visiting Dr. Houts and Powell Pediatrics for over 11 years. Every single experience has been fantastic. It's obvious when someone truly cares and over delivers. Whether it's vaccines, well checks, asthma issues, or other sicknesses, we've always experienced competent professionals offering amazing service. Even in unforeseen circumstances they've found a way to fit us in and care for our needs. Our family of 5 highly recommends Dr. Houts and Powell Pediatrics.

After going here for 13 YEARS, after many attempts to clarify a surprise added fee ($80) for a simple annual check-up for our daughter, we finally gave up and paid what we had for our other kids' visits. But his office persisted on the add'l $80, sent it to collections & put it on our credit report. We're paying the $80, but the deceptive practice should be known. Houts office became impersonal, bureaucratic, & short-term focused. If you go, make it quick and don't ask any Qs or you'll pay up.

Quality of care was satisfactory. We had to wait over 45 minutes for a scheduled well-visit appointment. The practice routinely separately bills for procedures which should be well-within a regular appointment. When I inquired about a bill from one of his colleagues, his response was to merely defend the office's billing practices. Find a doctor that is more interested than caring for your children than creative billing and upcoding to maximize billable charges to your account.
