Dr. Maulucci is reported to be an excellent neurosurgeon. However, his staff is inattentive and short with patient's calling. I was told to call and schedule my surgery and for 2 weeks I have been told someone will return my call, but I have not received a call back from the office. I left messages 3 days one week and 5 days this week. Very discouraged as I am in so much pain I had to sell my home and move in with my sister for her to care for me.

I had T10-S1 fusion with two 18” rods placed in August 2018. Everything went well. Pain was ultimately gone after Siatica calmed. 5 yrs later, I fell and cracked both rods. We went back in and Dr Replaced both rods. I am pain free again. Thx Dr Maulucci

Awesome Doctor
Doctor Maulucci, Took excellent care of my neck we laughed the pain away each visit. I left feeling at ease that I would be better once he did the surgery in 2015. I am hopeful that he still sees VA patients, because communityconsult here I come!

Great doctor!
Dr. Maulucci is a very caring and compassionate doctor. He answered all my questions and was very honest with me about whether or not I should consider surgery for my severe scoliosis/deformed spine. He encouraged me to direct my energies towards therapeutic exercise, both stretching and strengthening, to improve my core strength and hopefully reduce my pain.

Dr. Maulucci was WONDERFUL. He fused L3 to S1, and did a laminectomy, AND de-tethered my spinal cord in the same procedure. I'm still hurting (almost 10 weeks post-op) but it's a different kind of pain, and I can already tell the surgery did what we wanted it to do. After having dealt with the folks at Ochsner, among other places, I will never go anywhere else for ANYTHING neurosurgical.

I went to Dr. Maulucci for my severe scoliosis/deformed spine. He told me not to do anything because it could make my back even worse. He did not seem to care much about my pain. However, I respect his honesty. He was not in a hurry to operate like some other doctors were and I trust his opinion.. I will be going back each year just to make sure my curve isn't getting any worse. The staff is very friendly.

I had the worst experience with him. If you don’t need surgery, you are of no interest to him. He is nonchalant about constant pain. He was cold and flippant. Saw him for about 30 seconds. Condescending and no bedside manner. I would never ever recommend anyone to see him if they want someone empathetic and proactive about your pain

I found him to be very personable and available when I needed to make an appointment. Office personnel was outstanding. Always answered the telephone ( which is a big plus with Tulane physician offices). They always followed through with whatever I needed.

Dr. Maulucci is exceptional. Months of alternative treatments couldn't relieve the pain I experienced from a spinal canal cyst at L4-5. My husband & I both immediately felt comfortable with Dr. M. He addressed all of our questions & concerns, providing detailed explanations. He is a highly skilled surgeon & the leg pain I had suffered was gone the morning after surgery; the cyst & disc were removed and I had a spinal fusion. Follow-up care was exceptional. I am pain free & enjoying life!

My husband was in so much pain. He was losing feeling in his hands and legs. The primary care doc referred us to Dr. Maulucci and he had the surgery the next morning.. hours after the surgery my husband had 80% of his motion back. He is still in the healing process but he is 90% better. Thanks to Dr. maulucci!!
