No knock when he came in. Rushed the visit and completely ignored the symptoms and pain I told him about. Even gave me a knee brace I can’t wear because he didn’t listen and it causes more pain than not having one. Not very professional and I would avoid him at all costs. I will be going elsewhere!

Feel Good
I read these rating, but there were only 19. I wondered if they were unhappy clients. Went to the TriHealth site. There, he had over 400 ratings at 4.6 out of 5 stars. Decided to give him a chance. He came in and examined my knee. Told me what he felt. He pulled my X-ray and MRI and told me what he saw. He gave me his recommendation. He answered the questions that my spouse and I asked. We discussed the options. Was he friendly, not really, but he listened answered questions and laid out my treatments. He was confident and professional. I wasn't looking for a friend, but I feel confident he is a good doctor. Excellent experience.

Disrespectful and unhelpful
I wish that I would have read these reviews before wasting my time and money. I'm in my 40s and went to see Dr. Ruhnke in Fall 2023 for knee pain. At my first appointment, I was the first person to be seen that day. He was rushed and not engaged with my care. He asked questions but didn't seem to be listening to my answers. For my second visit, he did not even show up and I was seen by another junior doctor. For my third and final visit, he asked me where I was still having pain and when I pointed to the areas on my knee, he had his head down and was writing something--he didn't even look to where I was pointing! He then quickly went to the default of recommending a cortizone shot. When I asked additional questions about what was causing the pain, he could not answer. I still have pain and am seeking out a new doctor. Sadly, my bills for these visits were awful, and I was not made aware of additional costs. The whole ordeal has been frustrating and infuriating.

Bad! He told me he would straighten my leg when he did knee replacement. It's just like it was before, now affecting my foot.

Dr Ruhnke- Rushed, careless; poor bedside manner
I was scheduled to see Dr Ruhnke for pain in my knee. First, he enters the room, no knock and with his mask on his chin. He seemed rushed and perturbed, even though I was one of his first patients of the day. Durning the physical exam, he was so rough and it was so painful I had to physically remove his hands it hurt so bad. He didn't apologize or seem to care he hurt me. He ordered an MRI. This first appointment with this provider was less than 5 minutes. The visit was so bad that I requested another provider for my follow up MRI appointment. They rescheduled me with another doctor. To my surprise, Dr Ruhnke was my provider again for my follow up even though I specifically asked for another dr. Again, he didn't knock before entering the room. His explanation of my MRI as extremely rushed. He provided little to no explanation and didn't allow time for questions or dialogue. He tried to whisk me off for a cortizone shot without explanation. My second appt was less than 3 minutes.

Staff was awesome and considerate! Doctor was in and out within 5 minutes and was extremely unhelpful. Didn’t bother to ask or take into consideration any of the other health conditions that could be a contributor and blatantly was insensitive to my needs. I didn’t even know my actual diagnosis until reviewing it on myChart, so I would think there either isn’t anything serious enough to warrant some care on my part or I just needed to “lose weight” to fix all my problems. This specifically was triggering, especially to someone who recovering from an eating disorder, could immediately begin the cycle of restriction/binging. In all honesty, do some research on his reviews posted with medical sites before going thru with an appointment.

I was turned away from my appointment while on site due to a lack of taste and suspected COVID. No high temp, no coughing or sneezing and wearing a mask. Even trihealth’s site says to not delay medical treatment and that they are there for their patients, which is a lie. They also were not following other guidelines from trihealth such as screenings at the entrance. If they wanted to discriminate due to a pre-existing condition, they could have at least done it in the email asking me to call them to schedule an appointment or when I was on the phone with them scheduling my appointment instead of forcing me to waste my time off from work.

While very kind, certainly not thorough. Diagnosed me with age related arthritis - gave me a cortisone injection, put me through physical therapy - never did an MRI - nothing worked - my last appointment he simply said my issues were nothing more than age related - well - turns out I have a tear in my medial meniscus - had to have my Chiropractor order the MRI - honestly - totally disappointed in the lack of care and concern with getting to the bottom of the problem. Going elsewhere for care.
