Dr. Christopher Schmidt, MD

Extremely talented and listens to your needs and request!

Dr. Schmidt is arrogant and verbally condescending. The short version He Used Q-tips to clean my ears. Initial insertion was painful for each ear with immediate pullback response by me. He was displeased with this reaction WHILE rolling his eyes ETC . After I got home I found bright red blood coming out of my left ear. Called his office and got antibiotics. Bleeding continued for 3 days so had ears rechecked at a “different” care provider for an unbiased review. Results. LEFT EAR posterior auditory canal abrasion with dried blood in place, obscuring partial TM. Visible portion of TM is intact with light reflex. RIGHT EAR auditory canal abrasion with dried blood in place. TM intact with light reflex.Did not know the right ear had also been bleeding .. was prescribed more antibiotics to cover the right ear abrasion. Clearly Dr. Schmidt did damage and did not care. I will NEVER let Dr. Schmidt treat me ever again. He needs to humble himself.

Diagnosed a minor thyroid issue. Prescribed meds. Did follow-up blood tests; adjusted meds; refilled meds twice, then wanted another office visit before he would continue meds. Made an appointment; showed up and PA took vitals and said doctor needed another blood test. Doctor stormed into office and loudly told me to have a primary care do the prescribing and refused to order the refill or blood test... after demanding the office visit.

Dr Schmidt was called to HCA West Marion to evaluate my husband for vertigo. The hospital called him and he never showed up. I was in for three full days and he never came. The other doctors they called came but he never showed. I was told to call his office to schedule an appointment, we called no one will call us back

Dr. Schmitt performed surgery on our adult special needs son this week. He was wonderful! We were very impressed with him and the HCA Florida (Ocala) staff. We are not new to hospital experience and could not have been better treated. It was above and beyond anything we expected. Again thank you Dr. Schmitt and hospital staff.

My experience was AWFUL! On 2/23/23 their office called me to setup an appointment for 2/24/23 at 8:45am. I arrived at 8:30 to be informed that it was for 3/24/23. I told the receptionist that someone yesterday indicated that it was for this Friday and before hanging up said we will see you tomorrow and there is no way i would have confused an appointment for a whole month. The mentioning of March was not indicated. I was asked if I wanted to be put on the waitlist and said I don't know and walked out. I took a moment and came back inside to try and figure out where did the mix up come into place. I ended up speaking to the office manager and finally asked her if my appointment is on 3/24/23 then at what time. She tells me my appointment was at 9:15. I told her that was not what i was told. I was told I had an appointment at 8:45am on 2/24 and now you telling me i have an appointment at 3/24 at 9:15. So not only are the dates wrong the times are wrong. She said we tell patient

He does not listen to anything you try to say , only goes by information his MA gives him

If he spent two minutes with me it was a lot. Left me in room. Didn’t return I didn’t know where he went. Terrible at explaining. Hardly looked in ears. I was at the office over 2 hours. Waste of my time. Have pain in ear that he didn’t address. Just wanted me to buy a hearing aid for frequency loss.

I was very . impressed with the doctor Schmidt knowledge on my condition I visited his office more than one time, He introduced himself and explained everything he was going to do and why... answered all my questions, And his staff was very kind.. I can only find good things to say about them.. The office was also very clean.. I would recommend him.

First time visit for a throat tumor. Staff was pleasant, what time was hot bad. Dr. Schmidt was very informative, gentle. Did a needle biopsy and explained what we need to do next. He certainly was not rude or arrogant. My referral from mymPCP was sent in ion Wed /25 and I was in Dr. Schmidt's office today 8/27.

I personally have had the experience to get to know the doctor very well he does not give up and he will keep trying and working for you to make things better .A little lack of communication with some of the staff, but other than that he is a great doctor I would highly recommend him .As a matter of fact my wife is going to him now for a face lift

Dr Schmidt is rude obnoxious made me very angry I would not recommend him at all. The staff wasveryrude.please do not go to this Dr.

Dr very caring and informative. First time patient. Did procedure in office diagnosed the problem gave info to resolve it.

Dr. Schmidt the most rudest Doctor I've ever met had to wait 2 hours without actually seeing the Doctor. Agree with the Gramey family.

Dr Schmidt was horrible. Never returned the calls needed from the insurance company to approve my surgery. I broke my face in two places around my eye socket and nose. After waiting 4 months to be approved I find out they are still waiting on him. That's ridiculous.

Dr. Schmidt seems to have forgotten his medical oath. He is rude and dresses and acts very unprofessional. He looks good on paper and for that reason we saw him 3 times giving him the benefit of the doubt and the visits did not get any better. He was literally no help whatsoever. His unprofessionalism went beyond his demeanor, he was not prepared to discuss medical tests with us on first visit and was rude when we had questions. It felt like his way or the highway. We chose the highway, with excellent results.

My experience with Dr Schmidt was wonderful! He explained my procedure thoroughly letting me know what to expect both good and not so good. He listened and let me ask questions which he answered. He is very patient and very caring. He doesn't seem to be in a hurry. I am so glad I found him and would recommend him to everyone!

My experience with Dr. Schmidt was excellent. He did a surgery with a neurosurgeon on me and was much better than the neurosurgeon. Much more involved and engaged in my care. I highly recommend him if you need an ENT. I also had no issues with his staff. They were always efficient and attentive. If I ever am in need again, I will return.

Dr. Schmidt is very friendly, however his office is inefficient and unresponsive to patients. I gave up trying to have a throat biopsy and found a new ENT in Gainesville.
